I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Expess crew cab. I have always enjoyed audio systems. When I was younger I always wanted the loudest big bass system you could have. Naturally you change and now I want my system to be clean, clear, and more SQ oriented. I started gathering components and installation materials along the way. I have to give a major thanks to my installer Cassion Short who did the installation and tuning for my truck. Onto the equipment as follows:

Kenwood DNX 994S
Front Stage Hertz High Energy HSK165 Components
Rear Fill Hertz Cieto 62S coaxials
Subwoofers Orion XTR104DS
Enclosure Qbomb
Wiring Skyhigh 0gauge
Sound deadening Hushmat
Distribution Block SMD
Net Audio Speaker Door Adapter Cables
Net Audio Back Seat Spacer Kit
Metra Dash Kit
Maestro R Harness
Maestro CH3 Harness
Anetenna Adapter

This install took place Sunday's at my installers house over a few weeks. If you have any questions or comments feel free to ask and I will answer them the best I can.

I am an audiophile. But I wanna point out just how natural and good the Kenwood looks. Is that a factory bezel around it ? This is a neat looking build. Would be amazing to hear and feel final project.

Thanks. To your question about the factory bezel. Yes it is the factory bezel no modifications needed to be made. The goal was a clean, clear sound, with SQ or Sound Quality being the goal. The tuning that was involved we used music from Whitney Houston, Maraiah Carey, Metallica, Ray Charles, Carlos Santana, Lil John. Basically all genres. I want it to sound good regardless of what I was playing. Who knows try a competition and see how it stacks up against another vehicle. I love the way it sounds and it has hit my goals.

That's the way to do it. In high school I had a good friend. Taught me right. We didn't just throw big subs in and cruise around like most kids. It's about balance. I had to test hip hop pop country(my choice). That's a good mix. I was partial to the classic TS so her music was often used along with a few other females. Now I'm so much more versed in music and way more open minded. I would be like a kid and play hours of music in the driveway if I had a nice system again. Sadly an adequate set of headphones is all I got anymore.

I agree wholeheartedly. This is my third SQ type system. My first one was in a 01 altima. I had gotten back from my first deployment. The equipment used in that install was Alpine deck, Image dynamics components a 4 Ohm and 2 Ohm sets, Digital Design 3500series 12, Autotek Stealth Amplifiers 900.4 and 1500.1, Audio Control 4.1 and EQS. That was my dream system at the time. The component set was located in the kickpanel and the other in the door. It was great. If you were nearby I would glady let you sit and listen. One of my installer friends told me if you have headphones on and listen to your favorite songs. Match the sound coming from the headphones to build your car stereo and it will be perfect. The most impressive trait of my system is no distortion. That comes from the installer and his ability to tune and the owner of the vehicle choosing equipment.

Looks really nice! I wish the 3G door panels opened up like that. It's... and unpleasant process getting any CDL on it.
Are you happy with how it sounds?

I'm looking to add some MLV to the doors in my work truck, I swear they're louder than my '04

Thanks!! I am very happy with the sound. Actually this past Sunday I went to my installers house to do some checks and make any adjustments if needed. No adjustments were needed. We went on YouTube and started finding different genres of music to listen. Old school DJ Magic Mike, Celine Dion, Norah Jones, etc. I am very happy

I actually went to a Stereo show that was not to far from me. It was Sundown Show 2020 in Hickory NC. It was at the local Speedway complex. Inside the complex was all the SPL vehicles. IASCA, MECA, DB IBL organizations were all there. So if you wanted to meter and listen to SPL Demos it was the place to be. IASCA and MECA judges for SQ were there as well. It was only a handful of cars for that side of the competition. I entered and suprisingly placed in both organizations. 1st place in Novice stock, 2nd place in Novice stock. Comparing how I think my system sounds as compared to a competition vehicle is totaly different. I also decided to join IASCA to compete. I have alot of work ahead of me but I think it will be worth while.

im curious... how did your installer manage to not pierce
through the outside metal of the cab, when mounting the amps to the back wall?

The rear is a double wall. So as long as your screws are not too long they won't poke through

Well it has been over a year since I overhauled my system in my Ram. During this time frame I decided to compete in audio competitions. After going to one and doing well. I also listened to other competitors vehicles and looked at my scoresheet. I decided to redo my system not for just competition but listening enjoyment. Is that not the reason we make upgrades. I have decided I will be going with a completely active set up and newer subs. So wish me well and watch the new setup begin.

Mounted my DSP. I am using AudioControl DM608. Hopefully will try and install 3s and 7s this week. Run speaker wire. 2 of the shallow mount JL TW3 10s have been installed. a4bea51c78e27b98475a1f5f574b1b9e.jpg2d626120033cdc0ff3e339adb9025198.jpg
