my truck got stuck in 4wd one day at the dump been driving in 4wd since. I got my breaks changed 6 days ago.. 2 days later I get the loud clanking grinding sound that came from my front passenger side also my shifter was very loose that could be wiggled with my finger. replaced the transfer case shaft bearing bushing and link (picture below) now shifter will only go 4high and neutral and still making the sound. took it to shop. will not shift out of 4th geer. but when I put in neutral for 2wd it does not shift or doesn't shift fully and still makes the sound when it is in 4wd high which is what we think it is stuck in. it doe not make the sound. at the shop they replaced
wheel bearing and hub assembly and break line
and is still making sounds when put into neutral 4wd. but you do actually feel it shifting. also I noticed which I did not have before my axle was leaking and spraying all over which I never had happen and didn't happen before I came in. they said it was because it was dry and they greased it and thats is why I see it now. either way Noone can figure out the sound. I seen another person on here that posted a link to thier YouTube for sounds Nd mine sounds the same just louder. also they are talking about removing the drive shaft but my concern is the noise.. will it stop that noise.. will it put my truck back into 2wd when its stuck in 4... what is the sound.. what is the fixing. now that they did work on it only does it in neutral 2wd it makes the sound when turning and reversing.. also is it the actuator...if so which one? where is it.
posting link so you can hear sounds

4WD on pavement= bad. Have you gotten it shifted back to 2WD? You probably have bad cv joints. Also might be your front axle shafts.
