Does anybody know what rebates you get when you buy a new truck? Does it go by the pick up date or the date the dealer gets the vehicle. if the dealer calls you on the 29 of the month to pick it up do you get that months rebates or when you pick it up on the 3 of that month.

I did a factory order that I am still waiting for. Dealer told me that I am guaranteed all the rebates that existed at the time I ordered it (with deposit), PLUS, if the rebates are higher at time of delivery, I get those as well. I just made them put it in writing.

Did they change the rules? When I ordered my 21, factory would only honor current rebates that were available at time of delivery. No rebates carried over from time of order.

I have not seen any rebates on new trucks other than a few 500$ ones. in fact I was looking at some 2500's yesterday and the dealer was asking 5000$ over msrp.

Wow, fist I heard of this... it has always been rebates at time of sale not ordering. So maybe they will just discount the truck that much.

I’m just stating what I have in writing. Could be the dealer took a chance, knowing that rebates get better as the year unfolds. Regardless, it’s the deal I struck.

Depends on the dealer, or more specifically their knowledge of this being an option and their willingness to do the extra paperwork. Of course most dealers are the awful, so most won't acknowledge this as an option, or be willing to accommodate this request.

For the record this is how my deal was made for the order that I have in. I dealt with Aaron at Mark Dodge in Lake Charles, LA. He is well known for giving good deals without bs, and with locking in the scenario discussed here. My longhorn order I got at about 16.5% off msrp with 0%, with very little effort. If the rebates happen to go up like $3,000 at least or more, I can opt to switch and take that instead of the 0%. Otherwise I have my current deal and rebates locked in.

That was what my dealer told me as well. It's not an actual sale until it is delivered and all paperwork complete.

I too had the rebates at time of order and if they changed for the better at delivery I would get that.

Back in 2007 I had a Ram ordered with the 5.7 Hemi. On March 1 the new rebates offered a free Hemi. I picked up the truck on March 1. The dealer took what I had paid for my Hemi right off the balance due. I was a happy camper for sure.

Read the fine print of each rebate. There will be a lot of legalese that defines the program.

You get the rebates that are available at the time you order it OR if the rebates are better at the time of delivery, you get them. Basically, whatever is better you get.

I found all of mine on the internet. But that was last year. Not to many available in 2022.
