also a PW 2500 has about the same cargo cap. (1300# or so) as my 1500 laramie..so why not get a 1500 PW..wouldnt it run better being quite a bit lighter..just thinking out loud.

Frankly because the 2500 looks better and doesn’t need a lift for bigger tires so it should be much more durable.

I wouldn't have bought a Tradesman with the PW package when I picked up my '17. There are a lot of creature comforts inside that I wanted. And I actually like the PW grille.

That said, I also love the fact that mine is black. Most people don't even realize it's a Power Wagon, because the decals are ALSO black and don't show up very well, almost like ghost paint.

I understand the creature comforts that you are talking about but IMO most of those things aren’t needed, add to the likeliness of issues down the line and are used so infrequently that they don’t justify the extra many thousands in cost.

I will always take cloth seats over leather. Hate heated seats after having them in a Chevy. They felt great and when I got out of the truck into the cold my back would lock up due to the rapid change in temp.

That’s why all of these options are offered. Everyone has different personal preferences and budgets.

Actually my seats are vinyl with cloth inserts, there is no leather in my truck. And in the winter I use my heated wheel/seats daily. I also use bluetooth daily and navigation once or twice a week.

I didn't order the truck so there are some things I don't use, like the impossible to access CD player, and some things I wouldn't have purchased but use more than I thought I would, like the sunroof.

But I do understand what you're saying. Not everyone wants or needs those creature comforts, and that's why the Tradesman PW option exists.

1500 power wagon? Uh, no such thing.

Yes, the pw payload is quite a bit less than a normal 2500. My big horn half ton has more payload than my power wagon. That being said, the power wagon will tow and haul way better...its still a 3/4 ton hd truck.

I had the 2020 Tradesman 2500 as a lease. I too was never big on paying extra for creature comforts. HOWEVER, after driving it for a couple weeks I absolutely HATED the door panels. The arm rest is hard plastic. Zero give or cushion. My boney ass elbow would kill after an hour drive. Drove me nuts. Other than that it was great. Needed the 8.4 stereo though. I went ultra cheap and regretted a couple things later. Like having all season tires that were tiny and not being able to skip songs from the steering wheel. lol

I agree, some things are missing from the Tradesman 2500. I added the 8.4, upper glovebox, overhead console, and some other comforts. Did it a lot cheaper than buying higher level truck. Love it, wouldn't trade it for anything.

The power wagon has a taller front suspension. The power wagon uses a different part number on the track bar for this reason. The power wagon has the optional disconnecting sway bar for rock climbing, etc. If you wish to run 35's on it, it will rub unless you lift the front...level kit. Some may chime in and state they run 35's without rubbing, and that may be true if it's gonna be a pavement princess, but the it needs that extra 2 1/2 inches if you go to any amount of suspension compression or it will rub. That's my $.02 and it's worth what you paid for it, YMMV, I'm usually wrong...
Tell me more about only being able to fit 35s if it's a pavement princess??[emoji39]7f045c33fe88c2aecd3137713dd1f969.jpg1b385041a1865c7621206203709aa8a8.jpg

That color is growing on me. I saw it live for the first time last week and thought it looked really good.

Does this have the power wagon option? I see it has the wheels but the front end looks lower than the pics of other I have seen. It just may be the angle. Also what steps do you have on it?

Regardless great looking truck!

I have to laugh at the Tradesman comments. Both my 2013 2500 Tradesman and my 2020 3500 Tradesman are well apportioned. The only thing I like to have is the steering wheel controls for the radio and the upper glove box in my 2020.

The big thing for me would be the power seats. without power seats, the trucks don't have enough head-room.

Yes sir it is a Tradesman Power Wagon, same truck that is in my avatar just from a different angle.

The step rails are Tyger Star Armor from Amazon that I bought as a stopgap measure because I didn't want to wait or spend $2k either on on White Knuckle. Both of them came out of the box with small dents so I cut some 6" tread tape and covered them (including the kitschy looking logos and ****)

So i am looking at a tradesman 2021 6.4L with power wagon package. I cannot find its tow rating anywhere. Tradesman are usually 15000 plus but powerwagons are like 10000. So where do i go to find actual tow rating? I have a 8000lb travel trailer i am towing current with my 5.3L Silverado and it dogs something fierce.

The numbers are on the door jamb.

Same here, my 2018 2500 Tradesman came with a few extras and I added upper glovebox, UAS radio and steering wheel controls, and a couple other things. Got exactly what I wanted for a lot cheaper than getting options factory.
