UPDATE:
So, got the estimate from the collision repair facility. The truck is not totaled and the cost for repair is about $8k. Even if it's good as new when they are done, I will probably dump it once the '22's are available to order. I purchased this truck as a keeper, so I don't want to spend the next 10 years in wrecked vehicle. Now I just have to find out how to proceed with the diminished value thing.

BTW - thanks to everyone for all the helpful feedback!!

Good call. I dumped mine after two wrecks in one year, both of which weren’t my fault.

At least it isn't totaled. I would probably do the same thing. Speaking of idiots jumping into the HOV lane. The N Dallas/Garland ding dongs were doing that yesterday when I was trying to get out to Rockwall in the rain... People were going way too fast yesterday. I ran into several idiots running 80+ when the roads were flooding and or standing in high water.

So, this is what I have been driving for the last month. The Chevy is okay, but now I know why I bought a Ram! Bodyshop says I might have it back by Friday, 5/7 - I sure do miss my Ram!!

That Chevy is a good looking truck. What engine is in it?
So, hard to compare as the Chevy is bare-bones and my Ram is fully loaded. Overall, the Chevy is okay. I really don't have any complaints as a base-level truck. Runs fine, rides pretty good, and for the most part comfortable. I have put right at 1000 miles on it so far. But driving this for a month really makes me appreciate what I have in that Ram. The Ram is a world-class luxury truck and I have never experienced anything else like it.

Correction: Repair came in at $15k once they got into it.

Agree 1000%...My wife's 2020 Laramie is loaded and I was blown away by the comfort and quality of that truck, Compared to my 2017 Laramie, its way above it. ride quality superb and styling is awesome.
Looks like Chevy has taken some styling queues from the Rams!!

I just can’t get over that new look, though… LOL. I like it on the new heavy duty‘s, just not the half tons.

I was a little put off by the looks of the 5th gens when I first saw them. Especially in pictures. But I could say the same about a lot of different trucks when they were first introduced. I've grown to love how the 5th gens look, especially those with the Night or Black Appearance packages since I'm not a fan of chrome. And the interiors are so much nicer than any 4th gen I owned. Besides, even if you don't like how they look on the outside, you can't see that when you're driving it :favorites13:

Agree totally! My wife's 20 Laramie has the Mountain Brown and Light Frost Beige interior. Almost the same combination as her 15 Durango had (not brown but the dark gray) and it has the full panoramic sunroof, all leather, reclining rear seats...when I'm driving it (yes she lets me on weekends sometimes!!) I cant even tell its a truck except for the height (yes I leveled it!!) and its a pearl white..awesome in the bright sun!

My 17 is the "workhorse" hers is the luxury weekend driver.:party52:

Well, three years later, I’m still not liking them so even though the interior is pretty bad ass, I still have to see the outside of it when I got in and when I got out… LOL. It’s still pretty much to the point that if I was to ever grow a wild hair up my ass and want to get rid of my current truck for a new truck, it would be a three-quarter ton with a 6.4 hemi in it just because I still do not like the look on the 1500’s. On the TRX it looks good but that’s not the kind of truck I want and I’m not spending $90,000 on a truck unless it was a 4-door dually Cummins with a custom western-hauler bed on it or somethin’…lol.

Yeah...different strokes. you either love 'em or hate 'em....

Don’t hate it but certainly don’t like it, that’s for sure. And those 22” wheels don’t help it either…lol.

But, I will say, it’s still better looking than anything from Phord, Chibby, GM, Toyota or Nissan.

Wow, that's big time damage.
Must be a lot of suspension parts, I "assume", by looking at the photos.
