+ OK here goes.
The Dash indicator reads driver side 40 psi front and rear :)
Passenger reads 38.5 front and 38 rear
With the SLIME Brand digital Pressure gauge I read 40 PSI all 4 tires ! :O

Do you think the passenger tire monitor is starting to fail ?

2015 RAM OEM indicators !

THANKS

Buy a $2 pencil gauge and stop bowing to the digital gods! :p
It's air and a tire. Didn't require sub-menus & programming to work ok the last 100 years.
My 'nanny' will show all 4 the same, then all 4 different after a 10 minute drive. I just laugh.

As for the truck nanny yea as tires warm up my PSI goes up pretty fast !
I do try and keep a eye on things maybe overkill but thats me lol
I also have a Pencil gauge in the truck and car plus 2 digital s and 2 tire tread depth gauges :O so I have all bases covered lol

Great question !

I have tested before with one side in sun other shade and Yes agree that side would be higher !

This check was in the shade and the truck sat overnight! And I have checked this before with the same results.. Just for the heck of it I will test again tomorrow with the other digital gauge and Pencil gauge !

I tend to trust the consistency of a reasonable quality gauge over the dash. There are so many different brains and programming for it to go through before it displays anything on your dash, none of us know what the refresh rate is either.

Look at oil pressure gauges, cars used to have real ones that went up and down with temp/rpm as they should but idiots out there kept pestering dealer service asking why 'this gauge' keeps going up and down. Now they program the display to park right in the middle so long as it's in some predetermined normal range.

Just use the dash display as a reference.

Dash reading seems more accurate after a few minutes driving But I think it still gives you a ballpark reading with 1-2 psi error. Measure them cold by hand once a day or every 3 days or weekly if you wanted to have a little more accurate reading. If you pay attention to the dash readings and you’re OCD you are in for a ride to hell :)

LOL I trust my hand help gauge more then the truck monitor lol . I always check when cold and usually see the normal 2 / 3 psi rise when the tires get hot ! The dash used to be even with hand gauge but now off so that has me thinking the sensor battery is starting to go on my 2015 ! They are hitting 6 y/o so will see

That could be it yes. I have had a couple of them in my 14 that went bad cause their battery died. Had them replaced at Americas tires couple of months ago for $130 OTD if I remember correctly.

I check them in a carwash after washing the truck/tires,especially if i suspect somethings not right. That usually equalizes the tires the best i've ever found.

Not a bad idea Thanks,, I do not have a leak in the tires as they stay the constant PSI , so Must be starting to fail.. I'll grab 4 sensors soon

Unfortunately i have no idea what they use. I've always had them changed as needed when they go bad, this was the first time with the RAM but they've done a few other vehicles for me. They have a warranty as well if they go bad within the year i think. I remember i had to change them twice in my Jeep, but the 2nd time they said they were under warranty so it was free.

Dealer put on my after market wheels that have a -12 offset. The wheel balancing weights hit the calipers so he had to install balancing bags. Now my TPMS does not function and codes flash on the dash. I am thinking that the balancing bags are not compatible with the TPMS. Any thoughts or suggestions ? How can I get rid of the dash warnings ?

IMO the Balance Bags I assume are inside the tires .( Never Heard of them ) Are hitting the Sensor and killing them ! Please update when you find out a cure ! I was looking at Balance Beads a while back but think they would also destroy the sensors

Yes they are inside the tire. The only time you’re tire is not balanced is when your stopped. I went to the dealership today and the tech told me the the balancing bag do not interfere with the TPMS. What he did was used the TPMS valve stems that came with my truck that are for my TT, and the TPMS VALE STEMS THAT WERE PROGRAMMED FOR MY TRUCK ARE ON MY OLD RIMS IN A BOX . Go back on Monday to get it right.
