Finally decided to level the front of my truck.

I have a question for the rebel guys. I have a 2017 limited. With a lot of tinkering in the alpha obd app I made the truck completely get rid of Off road one. So now when it shows 3 bars for the ride height it says normal. When I get on the highway and it goes into aero mode it will say aero and show 2 bars on the cluster. So I'm pretty sure I have effe timely tricked the truck into thinking it's a rebel as far as the suspension is concerned, while still displaying "limited" on the splash screen.
My question is in the rebel, can you select aero mode as a ride height? Are there 4 selectable heights: entry/exit, aero, normal, offroad?

Another question to ask, which might be a little difficult obtaining the answer but I would be curious finding out whether or not if there’s any front-end alignment differences between the Rebel and the rest of the 1500’s because to my knowledge, the only way they achieved the extra inch of ground clearance on the models with air ride was basically programming the system to where our OF1 mode is NRH on the Rebel. That’s why those trucks don’t have an OF2 mode because their OF mode is the same as our OF2 mode. I wonder if the alignment is set differently on the Rebs because of the greater height to the suspension.

But you were able to use AlphaOBD to change the parameters on your ride height? That’s cool.

But yeah, the Rebels have all that that we do, just no OF1 or 2, just OF.

Thoughts on the new look? 2.5 in level, Cooper AT3 XLT 295/60R20 tires, 20" Fuel Hardline Wheels. 2015 Ram 1500 Big Horn 5.7L Hemi. Also front windows tinted to match the back (15%)

No does it look like it or something?, but i might get air bags in the rear and a higher level.

No, I was just curious but if you just got coils, I would definitely get some kind of airbags to go in the back if you ever load the back of your truck down to hook up to a fairly heavy trailer because your suspension can’t compensate for heavy loads like ours can that has the air ride and even with a small load, you took out that higher rake in the back so your truck’s gonna squat like crazy now if it ever gets loaded.

Took a couple 500 mile trips. The ride deteriorated too much. I could have lived with it but my smooth ride is more important than the level look. Decided to go back to stock - the good news is the bigger tires (275/60/20) don't rub. I will just need to live with the rake.

I just now thought of this but if you really did like the way your truck looked when it was level, there is a leveling kit out there that you can buy that even though it says it’s not made for our trucks with air suspension but I do remember seeing a post on here along time ago where somebody was successfully able to use it, where they got an actual leveling kit that’s intended for a spring ride truck but all they had to do was just detach the air line so they could take the strut out and put the polyurethane spacer on top of it and then you just run the air line back down through that and hook it back up so that you can get your level that way without having to rely off air pressure to do it… You still have to use the adjustable links which you have but like I said, at least you can still get your lift that way without having to use air to do it.

I think I’ve seen somewhere that sells an air bag system that goes inside your rear coils.

But yeah, that’s why I never leveled my old pickup was because I didn’t want to have to put helper air springs on in case I ever did load the truck heavy so I just left it alone.

Damn thats a nice truck!!!

Thank you!! The color alone is one of my biggest favs. It did look a lot better when I had the stock size BFG all-terrains on it with my inch and a half Bora wheel spacers but that was about it… LOL. I got rid of the tires because they made my truck ride too rough which led to having to get rid of the spacers too because it just didn’t look right having the wheels pulled out of the wheel wells with street tires on it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am aware of a few leveling options.

Might pursue one at a later date if I don't trade the truck in.

I really love the truck but might need to downsize for the wife. It is either that or buy a second $50,000 car. Not sure I want to do that right before retirement.
