I am new to Eco Diesels. I just got a 2015 Ram 1500 Eco diesel with 188K on the clock, that looked like it rolled right out of the show room, I got a decent deal. I have had a few CEL event, all the p20ee. A week ago I though it might be a good time to add some DEF, I was close to 1/4 tank, added some fresh DEF and then got a CEL, p2BA9 and then a p20ee. I thought like the p20ee, the p2BA9 was a fluke, I added fresh DEF and so reagent quality was not an issue. Then I started to get the "Engine will not restart, go see the Dealer" screen. I read somewhere that I should have just driven the truck at 50mph until it cleared the code. I didnt know that ten. I also read that if you remove 2.5+ gals of DEF from the tank and then refill with a few gallons (a few step in between) this will have the effect of restarting the p2AB9 process. I removed 2-3 gals of DEF only to see that the DEF gauge hardly moved, it has moved a little since, but not to where I thought it should be. Do I need to find a dealer or shop that has a wiTECH computer? Is there anon-dealer solution to fix this problem? Can AlfaOBD help me fix this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can try disconnecting the Negative Post on your battery for 15 to 30 minutes

I don't think that will do much good, but it does reset the computer & it may work.

You may have to clear the codes with a scan tool

In an emergency, you can start your ecodiesel after running the DEF too low.

I don't know if you will still need to go to the dealership

Mine came up with see dealer in 200 miles or it wouldn't start,
then it counted down to will not start see your dealer.
I used the jumper method of starting for several starts as I was getting ready to start a trip when I got the messages.
After several cold starts and several hot starts the message finally cleared.
I had already cleared all the CEL codes.

Pull the DEF injector out of the SCR and clean it. Probably all plugged from crystalized DEF.
It's possible the AEM recall warranty may still apply to the vehicle, it's worth inquiring about

HI I think I just resolved the issue. I did hit the engine shut off stage and had to start the truck several time with a jump of the starter relay. I was looking a a previous post of what the dealer might do wit the wiTECH scanner and realized that AlfaOBD could do the same. I filled my tank, and the P241D code came up. I drove the the truck and the code engine shut off notice did not resolve. The I saw that the dealer would reset the reset the SCR Mileage Extend W Active Fault (AlfaOBD can do this followed by SCR DEF Tank Fluid Rest (with a near full tank of DEF). Lo an behold the truck started right up, Drove it for a little bit, no codes, no messages. I will let you all know if this fix works for the long term

My 15 ED did that also. Dealer replaced DEF pump and tubing. Lucky it was covered under extended class action warranty. Was told it would have been a $900 repair. Good luck with yours.

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to say thanks, your method was the only thing that worked for me. However, I did have a different ending.

It allowed me to start my truck, but left an EVIC message of 49 miles left. So it didn't fix the problem, but allowed my truck to start - thank you.

Now I can at least get it to my dealer with a stock tune.
