I don't personally joke on Harley's, I love Harley's, wouldn't have any other motorcycle!

I started out on dirt bikes doing motocross then chopped up a couple Honda’s, make some money and bought a Harley. Haven’t looked back since. To me they’re the only cruiser I’d ever consider.

Likely looked like this when it was original

809fb87fc071ac2f8db678ed7dbe7ccb.jpg

When i bought it, it had been changed a bit & it had a Weber Carburetor sticking way out from where this unit sits & had more chrome on the engine than in this image & it had a Ridged Frame

I bought it & had a friend customize it
He began by cutting the Ridged frame off, from the battery back & at some point he cut the neck off & kicked the neck out about 6"
I found damaged Wide Glide front end & it was sent to Los Angeles to a shop to get it straightened out.

He worked on designing a new rear section that he could bolt a Harley Trike rear end to.
We found a 1950s trike rear end with 1 bent rear axle, I located a straight axle for it.
That is when we found out that it needed rear brakes, believe it or not, Harley had used 1948 thru 1963 Willys Jeeps Brakes on the Harley Davidson Servi-Cars

Anyway, when the trike was finished

Oh man I have been trying to stay out of this thread because it makes me want to buy another bike. Here's a couple of my most recent street bike. 2008 KTM 990 Super Duke. First vehicle I ever bought brand new. Funny story, the dealership went out of business and this bike sat in the window for a few years before I got my hands on it. I got it in 2010 with like 20 miles on it. I ended up racing this thing at Arizona Motorsports Park quite a few times and you can see a glimpse of my CRF450 in the background. I'll have to dig up some more pics on the track.

anyone who tells an ''SOA'' joke is showing their own respective ignorance, SOA bikes were 99% dyna"S mebbe one sporty, and an ultra sprinkled in....mayans mc on the other hand have the sotails and ''glides'' very nic bikes indeed......nothing wrong with the above sporty....1200 is a plus as well....I had a 2006 back in 2008......that bike was fast!!

I grew up third generation biker, always around the club life, so I saw bikes that adapted to that lifestyle. I built this one to suit my needs. Those Mayan bikes are pretty cool too, no lie I’d like to have one someday with my own flair to it.
2006 was rubber mounted , so it rides better than my solid mount. 1200 is definitely fast for a Harley and light. thanks for the insight and compliment.

Any BMW guys around here? I tend to keep all my bikes, only let a few go that don't fit me as well. I still have my first bike, 86 Rebel 250. Runs great!

I have mine still, 86 as well. It’s now partially 82, 85, 86, 87, & 02.
Johnny Cash style lol

I'm thinking of buying a bobber style bike again.
Not selling my Streetglide, just getting something of a bar hopper.
If there was an Indian dealership less than 2.5 hrs away I'd try the new Chief Darkhorse.
But I'm leaning towards a Softail Slim.
If they still made the FXDR I'd get one of those I think, but sadly I'm a year too late.

Yessir, built some mounts to run it Frisco style.
Nice! I was thinking about getting one for my 1200 Custom. I have drag bars on it and I think the Custom has the mid-glide width forks. Probably would need to custom build mounts.

They sell two options I believe, mine is the 39mm “narrow” glide front end. What year is your custom? I have a ‘00 1200 Custom also, it’s still 39mm but the headlight mounts on the bottom triple tree as opposed to my Sport which mounts to the eyebrow **top triple tee**

Its a 2012. I think the headlight mounts from the bottom. The eyebrow was a decoration. I took it off and replaced it with a stainless trim part from another model but it has been so long I forget which one. I have a flyscreen on it now.

That’s still 39mm narrow glide, the only sportsters that I am aware of running mid glide are the 48’s. you need to run the top mount style light for the narrow glide Ness, but there are some brackets I’m sure to run with lower mount, but I haven’t seen them. Memphis shades sells some awesome fairings also that work with bottom mounted. How’s your fly screen mount?
