That's a clue for newbies. If you purchase an RV of any kind expect to have to do repairs from day 1. Hopefully they are minor and can be taken care of by the owner
Couldn't agree with this more! I grew up camping but this is my wife and I's first camper. I told her when we decided we wanted one I'm going to need to buy another toolbox and more tools. She didn't get what I meant then but she does now.

Wife needs the microwave to sterilize our 3 month old's bottles. So living "the lifestyle of the not so rich and famous" lol.

atleast you are taking your 3yr old camping and not handing him a phone to shut him up. i been reading through these posts. i agree with pretty much everything discussed from hoping the corona campers go back to where they came from to the campers they are buying will be destroyed in a few years due to lack of maint. but good on ya mate for taking a kid camping!

That is one thing I am glad we didn't do with our kids. They know how to actually play. The wife and I have been kicking the idea around of getting one. My grandparents have and have had camping trailers and RVs most of my life. I have spent a lot of my youth going with them. Fun times for sure!

We camped with our RV last summer with a 3 month old and he never slept better! All that fresh air was good for him. Hated sterilizing the Doc Brown bottles though. We ended up using the Playtex bottles with plastic inserts, less stuff to sterilize.

We just went out on our first trip of the season last weekend and he just started walking for the first time at our campsite. Enjoy the good times camping with your little one!

All that fresh air is the best thing for them. You enjoy them too! They grow way too fast!

We were out this past weekend and yet again i was amazed at the number of people walking and driving past my site. Heck even when we went for a walk the numbers of people out walking was nuts! Especially so early in the season when school is still in session. Crazy. So far 2021 camping season is picking up right where 2020 left off.

I am sure the rest of this season will be the same. We'll have to hope for less crowds for spring of 2022 when things are hopefully fully back to normal

we got tired of all the inconsiderate jackholes around that have no respect for other campers.it's gotten really bad the last couple seasons, and the new boaters are even worse.we haven't used the truck camper for 2 seasons now.we went another route from camping.added a lake house.once covid is calmed down i'll use the camper to take the grandkids for overnight camps.20190808_191913.jpg

It'll be interesting to see how long this camping boom lasts. The campground we have ours parked at this year was pretty slow last year. We even got in last labor day weekend a week before labor day (was waiting to see where I'd be working before we booked a trip). All the other campgrounds by us were booked full. So with the baby we figured this would be a good one that wouldn't be too busy to park ours for the year. Well it's packed full and went to all permanent sites. As of last weekend there was even a waiting list 40 people long for a permanent site.

Just got back from camping at a vintage trailer rally in Pismo Beach, CA. Always a great time and we actually spend most of the time outside even though it was a cold, windy, drizzly weekend. This RV Resort is usually full of big trailers and motorhomes but the vibe is very different when we fill it up with our vintage rigs. You can definitely tell the difference between the people in 5th wheels and us. We'll walk into anyone's campsite and talk to people.

We made it out last weekend. This CG has over 400 sites and we booked a month before and they only had 6 sites left at that point.

This site sits differently. Instead of being perpendicular to the road we were almost parallel with it. The rest of the sites including one in front and behind us were perpendicular.

It was good and bad. We're people watchers and like saying hi so we got to see everything. But we were hit with the headlights of the cars and trucks going down the one way road.

The other nice thing was that there was woods behind us. Total privacy on the back side of the site. It was a beautiful weekend.
