Good amounts of moly and zinc additive.

Top end seems a bit thin, maybe doesn't matter for winter use. I haven't looked up the pour point or CCS vis yet, nor HTHS. Would be nice to know.

This 4Runner used a cartridge oil filter, not a spin on filter. It’s just the $5 Toyota oil filter from the stealership. Ironically all the aftermarket oil filters are sub-par.
Thanks...good to know. I use the genuine Toyota filters on my wife's Sienna.

I agree, seems like its a fairly thin 30wt. But it only starts at 10.4 so its really not shearing much at all...

I use Fram Ultra cartridge filters on the wife's rav 4, they are a nice synthetic upgrade over toyo paper.

Does it seal good at the top and bottom of the housing/canister? I’ve been wanting a good synthetic oil filter but I don’t like how they mate up with the housing/canister. I haven’t look at farm yet, but definitely will next time I’m at Walmart.

Definitely on the light side for a 30 weight oil, what’s interesting is the 5th Gen 4Runner comes with an engine oil/transmission fluid oil cooler stock from the factory. I’m the summer my engine oil temperatures are between 160-180 degrees Fahrenheit and winter between 140-155 degrees Fahrenheit. Depending on interstate or around town driving. So before the oil makes the trip back into the engine the oil is thicker. No problems with moisture per blackstone.

The other parts needed are:
  • Thermostat housing: 53022168AD
  • Engine cooler adaptor: 4893345AA
  • Oil Cooler line: 52014832AC
  • Lower Radiator Hose: 52014835AB
The lower rad hose listed above has provisions to connect to one end of the oil cooler. The other end of the oil cooler is connected to the oil cooler line, which connects to the thermostat housing listed above.

Just ordered all the stuff for this. I'm hoping in addition to keeping the oil cooler when towing it will also help warm the oil up quicker in the winter. I have a hard time getting the oil to 190* in the winter....

Know your market, know your consumer, I think an electric f150 will be a hard sell. It's not like your market is a transgender soccer mom who spends at day at a kale bar you idiot. Ford says in just 9 years all foreign Fords will be electric. You know they will do the same for American Ford, and the market no longer matters. They will build stuff that just aint gonna sell, if you own Ford stock good time to by apple instead. When will fca join Ford and GM and go over the cliff? I think GM said they will be electric like in 2 years? Big 3 will have a new meaning very soon.

Around here.

Most people that drive trucks are soccer moms and the like. Basically if you dont have a truck you are not cool.

Yup. The electricity is going off around here more in the last few years, I'm assuming because a lot more people have electric cars.

I always laugh at people around here that are going "green" because our power is almost 100% from coal or oil[emoji849]

Don’t worry they will eventually start controlling/regulating our electricity usage. They are already charging more during certain hours of the day.

The boss will last a long time i bet. I bet you could go 20,000 on it. But it was one of the worst filtering filters (make sense) when it first came out. The micron size and percentage were bad.

I think I remember Jeff saying his sock would filter better [emoji1787].

I bet the density of each would need to be close to each other.

You cant siphon 75w140 gear oil with water on the other end i bet

Im amazed at how much more oil pressure the 5.7 has over the 6.4.

The 6.4 will idle around 30psi and at highway speeds its low 50’

My socks with holes still filter better.
