My truck has them from the factory. I've had to replace the drivers door one once due to it bulging up and I've heard many other say theirs do the same. They are easy to remove/replace, just one screw at the end and they slide off. I almost think that taking the chrome ones and finding a way to paint or powder coat them black would be a better option as the chrome ones have a hard top surface.

Thanks, I may give these a try. The MOPAR ones are outrageously priced. I'd feel comfortable trying to paint these.

It's kind of hard to tell from the picture, but I think those are stick on caps meant to go over top of the factory piece. Still might be worth painting to get a hard surface and maybe prevent the rubber piece from buckling though.

Here are the factory chrome ones which are going to be different than strips you stick on top of your bulging rubber moldings.

The factory ones are $312 for the black ones and $277 for the chrome ones. The cheaper chrome ones you see online are just overlays you stick on your original rubber ones. I do agree the prices are high for OEM parts but if nobody is making a viable replacement, they can charge whatever they want.

True that im really just talking about the thought that the process for polishing the aluminum is longer than the process for making them black seems backto me even in the polish is an actual dip, it wor he 2 be done at least twice , with the bla k if you san as far as ness. You spray your color then seal and done but who knows I build houses not car parts

The gap gets even wider... The black ones are not painted, they are just bare rubber. :)
