I'm not sure if yours would mount in a different place being an ecodiesel. Mine mounted to the the right as you sit in the truck, to the side of the center console.

No eco diesel here. This is the video I saw that showed the controller module being mounted to the right of the steering wheel. Looks like it is not terribly far from the control head that needs to be mounted in the dash. RAM in video is 2018, mine is 2017. Everything looks identical to mine other than I would not have to remove the floor console as I have the bench seat.
Maybe the location changed sometime around 2016 or so.

Edit: Somehow I missed it but in re reading some of the thread I see GTyankee pointed out that the mounting location changed sometime in 2012-2013.
Thanks to GTyankee for the Info.

I have a 14 Express with the Trailer Brake. Mine came from the factory so I didn't install it but the module is mounted to the right of my steering wheel near the radio. I have used it several time and it works very well. I love the way it's totally integrated into the truck. I can show the trailer gain on my EVIC, save trailers, name trailers ect. I definitely recommend going factory. 1c000b3b3c1be10a85a5e40a8959e532.jpg

Interesting!

I have a 2017 as well, would be nice to find out that its easy to mount the module.

Thanks for the input. Confirms where mine will need to go if I need to install one.

Pretty sure that if you want it as one would come from the factory the place to mount it is the same as in the video I posted. When the weather breaks a little more and I am feeling ambitious I will see if I can locate those pre drilled mounting holes. If we have them I figure that is where the bracket needs to go. Probably is exactly where Ricks Ram's module is located.

This is the video I went by. You really need a flexible shift screwdriver for that top right screw.

It is almost comical that almost everyone thinks that it needs 3 screws to hold something that light in place
1 threaded screw & a nut would do the job

Yeah I was wondering if maybe the dreaded upper right screw is even necessary. Haven't installed one so I don't know how flexi it would be without it.

I would think you want it pretty secure because too much movement can't be good for the guts of the module.

It would also be another place to get rattle under the dash if you didn't get it secure on all sides. which drives me crazy. Something doesn't need to be heavy to rattle if it's not tight. I'm OCD too so I would definitely install it with all the screws. I have seen a few guys mention they used a Zip Ties and been happy with that as well.

I put it in because I figured it would start rattling if I didn't and that would drive me crazy

I have a related question. 17 Laramie, I installed the ITBM and programmed with Alfaobd. I see everything pop up on both the radio and EVIC. If I squeeze the dash controller the evic pops up. Seems all good to here. My 4 pin connector has worked since I got the truck 5 months ago. Right after I programmed the ITBM, the 4 pin doesn’t work. Checked with a meter. Checked fuses. Unprogammed ITBM still didn’t work. Unplugged the cables to the module let sit over night, no 4 pin. Reprogrammed ITBM. no 4 pin. I am so hopeful so one can point me in the right direction.

Can you check if exterior lighting load shed is disabled .
I just had my 4 pin give me some grief as well .
I had a bad ground on trailer and also replaced the main trailer connector at the back of the truck as had some corrosion .
I also noticed that my exterior lighting load shed was enabled so I disabled .
I’m not sure if that was my main problem but i Changed that setting as well
Check your logs in alpha before you made the changes

I have noticed somethings that I am wondering about:
Control-Trailer Tow: No - issue?
ECUConfig 3:
Tow Haul Switch Feature Present: No. - meaning the push button?
CBC Features:
Trailer Tow Present: No. - issue?

anything with these items?
