hey guys my 06 ram has a coolant leak at the bottom of the water pump I assume gasket is what's leaking so with the truck having 119k on it I decided to go ahead and change the pump, especially since the dealership where I purchased it from a month ago already changed the rad and the thermostat because of overheating issues, now the dealership was a Chevy dealership and it looks like they used dexicool in the system, vie read something about Mopar coolant and cant seem to locate some (haven't been to stealership) I'm just checking before hand is that what I have to use in this truck or and I empty it and flush it and then go green? I already know the harm of dexicool and I'm not going that route and my research has lead me to believe that best is Mopar coolant just double checking that, that is the way to go.

TIA

I suggest that you go to the type of antifreeze that the truck was sold with

Watch this video to determine what you should use according to what Chrysler stated, unless you have a personal preference, in that case i would place a sticker stating which fluid is in the vehicle, unless you will be the only person changing the fluids

If you are changing antifreeze, at the end of the video, it tells you how to flush

all water pumps have what’s called a weep hole , when internal seals start to go bad , the weep hole starts to drip water giving you a heads up to replace the water pump. I would try my hardest to remove any remaining coolant from the system before reassembly . Then you will know what anti freeze you have , and avoid future problems.
