2008 Ram Hemi, fixing to put in a seal kit and do a recharge on the AC system. Anyone know where to find the orifice tube location?

with the AC running, grab the AC lines and note where the temperature changes from hot to cold (normally sweating). The location of the temperature change is where the orifice tube is located as the freon transitions from a high-pressure gas (hot) to a low-pressure gas (cold)

That is a good idea unfortunately my AC is not currently running because of loss of freon. Seems like on cooler days I can get it to come on sometimes. Dye was put in it and it is showing up at all connections

Thanks, I assume the orifice tube is installed in the larger flared out end

The location of the temperature change is where the orifice tube is located as the freon transitions from a high-pressure gas (hot) to a low-pressure gas (cold)
Close, the refrigerant transitions from a high pressure liquid before the metering device (in this case an orifice tube) to a low pressure.
