I need to stop reading your posts… I see all these areas you drive through and it just makes me want to pack up and take a road trip. One of these days I will. Yosemite is on the top 10 places I want to visit in the United States.
The views alone are worth the trip. There are spots in the park that are damn surreal. we'll hit a 3rd time just because we really couldn't see what we wanted to see :) If we do it this year it'll be prob by the end of September, if not we'll do again next year by the end of May.

The cabin we rented had a picture of the place that i found a lot better than the maps provided by the park. Hopefully this work out on a printer. click on the pic link at the bottom and download the original from Flickr. it's got enough resolution to zoom in.

It only took abour 3 years since i got the Mopar skids installed for me to make the oil pan skid level with the other one :). It's been in the to do list for a while hahaha. Damn it it took me about 5 minutes to cut the darn thing with the grinder, anoher 3 min of beating the lip a little up with a big mama hammer, 10 sec of black paint and voila.

It'll prob take me another 3 years to do something about the skid i've been wanting in there for a while :)

Got a new Softopper rear window. The original one got messed up by a silly mistake. i tried to clean it quickly and I had a rag with acetone handy and i wasn't paying attention, lol you can imagine the rest. $80 later and 2 min of my time removing the old and installing the new one in fixed the mistake right up.

This is exactly how I screwed my headlight up. Let it be known, acetone does not play well with many things.

Almost done with the Jeep, at least for what i'm calling stage 1

Now i can get all 4 wheels planted on a small rock and the front can still open up a couple of inches more than what you see in this pic. she can get really flexy.

Waiting on a steel rear bumper and a used PCM (dang Mopar with their 2015+ BS that we need to unlock PCM's, lol) so i'll send it to Hptuners to get it unlocked and once i get it back i'll put my own custom street HPT tune.

After all the steel i've dumped to her the front is now 2 3/8" from 3" i had, and the rear is 1.25"
New rear steel bumper is only 65lbs so i'm not expecting the rear to sag more but will see. there is one thousand options to choose from when it comes to springs for the JK, ******** it lol but i'm still on the factory rear ones cause i'm really trying to save some bucks.

That thing came out awesome! Did you do lockers or anything while in there?

No, lockers will be stage 2. it'll be more expensive this way but as i told Danielmidi in post# 1116 i needed to protect the underbelly since i'll be doing more aggressive trails than what i've done with the RAM so the factory BLD will do for now and the money i was going to use to add lockers, it's distributed everywhere around in skids, bumpers, winch, etc. That's the excuse to use the winch more if needed. :)

For sure. I prefer to outfit a rig appropiately like you did and add as things progress. You get a better feel for what the rig can do in a basic form. Not that you're an example of this but all too often I see guys fully build a rig and than get themselves in trouble cuz they never wheeled in in basic form. Lockers are great, but get you in trouble real fast. I'll be honest lockers are overkill for lots of things and I'm actually pulling my front out of the jeep. It's more of a hindrance than a help in 99% of what I see and being a lunchbox deal, has chewed my axle and it's parts up pretty bad.

Washed the truck pretty good yesterday. Wife was actually complaining about it as she's driving her more often now :)

Then today i got couple more stuff i had ordered for the Jeep. I did a rear steel bumper, the stocker bumpers in this thing are more of a joke. Rear one is prob like 10lbs lol. I also ordered new rear coils to get rid of the rear spacers and match the springs i have in the front. The springs will be longer so that would be the excuse for longer shocks and even more flex. Also ordered Clayton rear LCA's and that seals the deal for the Jeep Stage 1.

Been a while since i last posted, can't believe how the time flies, I'm taking the Jeep on the rocky trails but wanted to feel my Kings again since driving slow with the Jeep can be boring hahaha.
This was today

and why i have rock sliders on her too :)

This was couple of weeks ago with the Jeep. This is why i needed something more rugged. Now If i could keep the same speed i can with the truck to get to this places that will seal the deal...

The poser, of course

Haven't gone wheeling much as the summer temps are almost Arizona like and now the guys from the Cali National Forest have closed all trails from Aug 30 until sep 17. In the meantime ive been pampering the Jeep a little more than the truck and i can finally say i'm done with stage 1. Stage 2 will be a set of race shocks so i'll start saving for those.

Would add a little more love to the RAM. Chassis unlimited finally released an skid plate for the Octane bumper line. Little steep price but i'll be more than happy to add it to complete the look i've always wanted to have in my truck.

I'll wait couple of weeks for Black Friday as they told me they'll have a discount. Wooo woooo

At Pomona offroad show.

Sad to report ZERO 5th gen trucks at the show other than the TRX. Show stealers as always was Jeep JT Gladiator and new Ford Bronco, though it was refreshing to see the TRX builds. The aftermarket setups are just damn impressive.
This was one of the King setups out there today

Wonder if the TRX front LCA's will fit our 4th gen trucks

And how about having a pair of fancy rear control arms they will mate great with my Kings rear :)

Another King setup

Compared to the new Bronco 2.5 Kings, i like their front setup
51574665408_80ccf9607e_h.jpg2021-10-10_04-49-48 by RAM RSM, on Flickr

But considering Ford has marketed the Bronco as a Jeep competitor in the rock crawling department it's sad to see their weakness points, the aftermarket will have to address the rock anchors they have for lower shock mounts, my god what a POS setup

Do you run your trackbar at stock length or do you have it longer?

Got the 2 babies out today. Had to replace one of the truck tires cause a long nail got into one of the outer corners and they wouldn't patch citing safeting concerns so i got a brand new KO2 in 315/70/17 for $49. I took the "bad" one to a smaller tire shop where they happily plugged it for $25 so i upgraded the KO2 spare i was running in the Jeep (paid $40 for that POS :)) and the RAM KO2 for less than $100
Love to be able to run the same tire size on both vehicles, comes handy some times hahaha

This was my old Jeep spare

And now the new one that came from the truck, lucky me that tire only has 5k miles Wooo woooo :)
