Did you take measurements?

I'm just wondering if anyone took measurements before and after lifting?

For example stock height on stock wheels measured at ×" then you did a 2, 2.5, 3" front leveling kit. Maybe you did a 3 front 1 rear or maybe you did a 4" lift. If you added tires what size and what was either added in height combined or without tires then you added tires?

Thx

I have 5ish inches to max garage height so trying to figure out what I can do including tires...

BTW this includes the Sat radio shark fin...

Yep for instance ground to fender
14 Stock RAM 1500 Express 4x4 crew cab stock 20" size tires
front fender: 36 1/8
rear fender: 39 1/4

After Rancho QL front and Falken 315/70/17 all around
front fender 39 5/8
rear fender 40 1/8

After rear Icon 1.5" Coil Springs (settled in) with the same QL struts above and same size tires
front: 39 5/8
Rear 41 1/8
Then i started adding more modifications for overlanding and such, made the switch to Kings so it's easier with adjustable coilovers to change your height and accomodate for weight, Clayton 2.5" rear springs etc etc, currently after 800 lbs or so of extra weight because of mods compared to when i started, around 500lbs of them in the truck bed the front is at 39 7/8 and the rear is about 41 3/4, tires are 315/70/17

I just measured my overall height at 77.5" and my garage is 83" so I have roughly 5" to work with.

Some lift components add a fixed amount of lift because they don't change or rely on spring rates factored against the unique weight of your truck as it's configured.

Other components will lift marginally more or less depending on that weight. So what one person gets from that wil be different than what you might.

Ah thx. So I guess I would need to know their setup used not just the measurements themselves.

For 4wd 1500s the front struts which reuse stock springs will give you fixed increments because the measurement which changes is the relationship between the lower spring seat and the bottom bolt. There is a slight change in leverage as the lower control arm moves it its arc but that is a small factor.

So for example the bilstein struts will give you the lift height specified by the ring you select, at the center line of your front wheels.

Rear lift spacers will also give predictable results because they are directly over the axle and are not subject to compression.

Thx I'm just hoping to get some before and after measurements of the overall height and what the setup was to achieve it.

Your truck should fit that 83" garage with a 2.5" lift front 1" rear and 35 tires.
Have fun.

The tires will add about 1 1/4" overall to the truck over stock which leaves me roughly 4". The 2.5" level I'm not sure how much that actually raises the overall height of the truck but 1" in the rear should lift the overall height 1" right?

I've never measured from the truck top but mine fits in my 82.5" garage. Barely. i have 2" lift in the rear and 2.75" front with 315/70/17 all around.

Thx for the reply. I called a couple places and got some info to figure out where I can and can't go with a level/lift.

My 1500 does not fit in my 83" garage. I roughly measured and the roofline sits around 84" + shark fin. This is with a 3" body lift and 3" spacers on clapped out factory dampers/springs, and 37s.

No idea what the original height was as I never bothered to measure, I just assumed once I'm finally done with the lift that it won't fit into most garages. :rotflmao:

Pretty sure I have it figured out now as far as what I can and cannot do to still fit in my garage. Now it's just picking which way I want to go...

never measured, but the point of a lifted truck is the fact it will never fit in a normal garage again !

Lol I love my paint too much to not garage it. I'm only doing it for looks as I don't offroad at all.

In the end I'm leaning towards the eibach kit with zone uca over the 5100s. The superlift 4" lift is still an option though.

Yup, parking in a garage has its benefits, protecting your paint is definitely one. At the start of each winter I mutter a few curse words as I tread snow to get to my truck that doesn't fit in my garage haha.

That eibach and zone setup should ride real nice.

I am a bit worried the top setting of 2.75 lift won't clear 35s though and also my fenders measure 3" rake. That being said 2.75 front Nearly puts me level but the kit also has 1" in rear so I'm not level in the end but I do get to 1.25" rake instead of 3".

You do not want to be level. Since the hood is higher than the the bed a level truck appears nose high
