Ouch! Sorry to hear that. The roads are full of terrible drivers these days. Seems that during the shutdown everyone forgot how to drive and what common courtesy is.
Sadly I was at fault this one... I think we both made bad decisions in this case but in the end.... Insurance and police faulted me. Last insurance claim other than glass for me was 25 years ago. And that one was almost nothing($400) so I hope I don't get hit too bad on rates.

Just got back from our latest trip. Finding out the tank level sensors aren't that accurate in this trailer either. Bathroom gray takes 2 days of sink use and 2 showers to reach 1/3 and 1 more shower to hit full. It's a nice jump there for adding 1 shower worth of water.

Black tank stays at 1/3 most of the time even with using the black tank flush to clean it out. Yes we use RV toilet paper.

It's not a big deal since we have a feel for what they can hold but it would be nice if they could come up with an accurate system. I know they have after market systems but I'm not going to buy one of them.

Probably a dumb question; but are you perfectly level? Depending on which side of the tank the sensors are mounted to, being out of level even slightly can raise or drop your tank levels.

Some guys swear that you should be bagging your TP. Not sure what to think about it, but it does seem to "cement" to the sides or anything it can grab onto which always wrecks the sensors as well.

I don't think they've made a trailer yet that has accurate sensors.
Lol, my old Layton has no sensors at all, so I just have gotten used to knowing about how long each takes to fill up. Me personally, on the TP comment...I always toss it down the toilet. Can't imagine bagging TP full of S, that's gross...hahaha.

If you flush your black tank well it shouldn't cause any major issues.

I'm level. Also my black tank was 1/3 when it was both full and empty. I use the black tank flush until it's clear. This is only our third trip in a new trailer. I'm used to getting a feel on how long the tanks take to fill. We're good now but I thought I'd get at least one year trouble free. And yes it's under warranty and no it isn't worth taking it back in for this. They'll just fail again.

I have a couple of trips coming up that'll take a couple of hours to get there. Maybe I'll put some water and soap in the tank and let it slosh around.

Some trailers don't have a black tank flush. It's a pretty gross idea but not really any different than throwing baby wipes/diapers in the trash. You don't have to reuse the bag ;)

Let's be honest, anything to do with trailers and taking care of business is gross; black water tanks, see through drain pipes, sewer spills, you just have to turn off your mind when dealing with it all.

This is my first trailer with a black tank flush. Before I just used a tank wand or I filled the tank with a little bit of water and laundry soap and drive to the campground and then empty the tank. Not really a big deal for me. It's just part of life with an RV.

My 32 yr old rig has no black tank flush. My wife rinses the tank through the toilet with a wand. There are no dumpsters in the cg loops where I camp, only at the park entrance, so I personally wouldn't want bags of stinky S paper lying around, closed or not, but that's just me.

Everyone is different. I got another eye full of that on a recent trip to Daytona a few weeks ago.

We were told by the service tech when we purchased our Jayco, to use this about 4 times a year to keep black tank sensors clean. He said to put it in with a 3/4 full tank of fresh water after dumping and on the trip home it will clean eveything right up. Then dump before next camping trip. They did not sell it where we purchased our unit so it wasn’t as if he was pushing a sell. He even told me the cheapest place to get it was Amazon. We have not tried it yet, but I did get some.

Yes. I use the camco drop ins on every trip. They seem to do a good job

So with all the new "Covid" campers out there... (1st time people that just got brand new trucks and campers during this mess). Camping this last weekend was a mess.

We typically stay at state parks, but this time we met some friends at a "resort" campground.

Rookies were everywhere. Walking thru campsites, keeping or forgetting that the outside speakers were on, canopies getting busted up in the winds...

Two sites down we had 4 20+/- boys in a brand new camper with a brand new Denali... covered head to toe in tat's, including the face. They were guzzling whisky straight out of the bottle and making video's of their ******* stunts. They had a pit bike with an open exhaust - wheelies, crashing, crashed right into another campsite... blasting uncensored rap music from both their truck and camper - different songs. My kids said they were YouTubers making videos... the best was the fire department showing up at 1:30.

Across the road was a family reunion of sorts. 4 camp sites, 2 with brand new rigs, the other two with car trailers full of camping gear. Probably 30+ people. 15 or so being kids. The kids were starting fights with everyone and anyone - throwing gang signs, yelling at adults in Spanish... we had to call security and the state police as they were all about 15-16 and tried to fight my 10 year old and his friend. They followed my kid around calling him all sorts of stuff a 10 year old didn't hear... then they told the cops that we were all racist and starting the problems.

Then they jumped a kid a the playground.

I couldn't even let my kid ride his bike.
WHERE THE DEVIL was this going on???

I just started a Carlisle All Truck Nationals thread over in the Lounge. Check in if your going to be heading out to the show. Hopefully a couple of you local guys can make it. Maybe get some 3rd and 5th gen guys involved too.

Gonna be a hot weekend. Stay hydrated and have fun. I've been to Carlisle shows in the past and always had a good time walking around looking at stuff

Proud to say my wife and I spent this past week camping in the back of my truck. We went from NC to the Anirondack mountains in NY. Beautiful country, all through the mountains looking at numerous waterfalls, over to Niagara waterfall's, down Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, can't remember all the places. Made a round trip of almost 2600 miles. Averaged 18 mpg according to the evic which in my opinion was great since we were hauling around 1000 lbs and mountains like you wouldn't believe. I used 87 octane going and 89 octane coming back, would love to say I could tell a difference power or mpg wise but I couldn't. I know that's not what most people want to hear but I can only judge from my own experience, sometimes I wonder if they are selling the same gas in all 3 octane ratings and just fooling us, lol. The truck with near 140,000 miles on it never missed a stroke. If you've never been to the Anirondacks and you ever get a chance it's well worth it!

A few more pictures of our trip, can't get over the beauty and relaxation of it. I'm a southern boy but I have to admit the beauty I seen in "Upstate NY"!
