If a FOBIK has been stolen, how can you deactivate it?

I want to find two circuits to activate a pair of relays. 1. Ignition on and 2. Engine on. I am also wondering if AlphaOBD will activate any "Upfitter" options on a 2016 1500

Hi all,

still working on getting my damaged Ram back on the road… I thought I was nearly there with the work, but found a hidden damage on the casting of the EPS steering rack, which means it needs total replacement.
I have ordered a rack from a supplier in Europe but I am wondering about how to code it to the car once it’s been fitted?
can I use AlfaOBD to do this? I have been searching in the forum without success.
if it’s not possible with Alfa, is there a reasonably priced scan tool that you guys recommend that can recode the new rack?

These are the only options I see in steering. I am not connected to my truck though so maybe more will popup if I connect to it.

You tired flipping the leds in the socket? Do they have two metal connectors on each side?

For what it's worth, I didn't experience any issues with the BAFX tool I had in the chest. Deerguys cable is nice. And much thanks for the writeups and information guys!

Were you able to find your answers? There are other threads here specific to adding RKE. There is some hardware that needs to be updated and some wiring that likely needs to be added. There are a lot of variances between different years and trim levels, but essentially, what's required is: hood latch with switch (may already be installed), wiring from hood latch to Power Distribution Center (PDC) (wiring may already be installed), wiring from PDC to Body Control Module (BCM) (wiring may already be installed), new Radio Frequency Hub (RF Hub or RFH) (RFH may already be installed). There are kits on Amazon that contain all the hardware and wiring, but there are more cost effective ways to get it all. After all of that is good to go, you need the 4 button FOBIKS (can buy 4 button overlays on Amazon to use with your existing FOBIKS), you'll program the new FOBIKS using AlphOBD, then change the appropriate settings.

Those are the hardware pieces and the major steps required. Like I said, there are other threads here that go along with this one to provide all the details. Youtube is also your friend for this upgrade.

I cant figure out why I can get my turns to operate as drl. I thought I changed everything in Alfa so can anyone tell me what I have done wrong?

I have a 2014 and I've had mine set for a couple of years. Here's all the related settings on mine:

That may be the issue. On the projectors, you can't use the Low Beam DRL setting, it simply won't work. No one (outside of the manufacturer) knows for certain, but my therory is that it has something to do with the turn signals being the factory default for DRLs on projectors and the low beams the factory default for non-projector DRLs. I actually wanted to use the low beams on my truck, but couldn't.

Not as DRLs, no. Daytime Running Lights are always in the headlight area, by DOT regulation.
You CAN get kits that let you use the mirror turn signals as running lights though. There's at least two companys that offer the kits. They require some minor wire splicing and some rather tedious threading of wires through the door connectors IIRC.

I have everything I needed coming so I want to be able to run in my tail light LED's bulbs and my head lights HID's, well I have the HID's projector headlight but if I can get rid of the resistors will be great, do you have an how to so I can go and change all of this?

Okay guys I'm getting my bypass cable and my obd MX+ sometime soon and I want to do this one at a time, so I install a 52 gals Titan fuel in my 3500 and I want to see if I can use my setup to change it to read 52 gals, now I believe I change that to 194 liters, is this correct?

52 US gallons to Liters should be 196.8 or 197 rounded up.

Please post if it works for you! I tried to change it on my 2018 and successfully made the change, however the fuel gauge did not read correctly so I changed the value back to the stock setting.

Okay will do, so what was the stock setting then? I'm waiting on my bypass cable now I was thinking to just leave it alone but I will at least go and see what's the reading.

I can't remember in which AlfaOBD thread I saw it or it could have been in the fuel tank thread, but I remember seeing something about the truck not being able to recognize the "full" 52 gal (or liters) values and to go a little lower. I just can't remember which thread it was in.
