Bought my Ram in January, left it in the driveway for the rest of the winter then started driving when the salt seemed done for the year and I sold the Dakota. Didn't really check under the hood except to refill the washer fluid, and when it hit 6k miles went under the hood for an oil change. Noticed at that time that the engine cover had grown legs and walked away.

Only time the truck was in for any service was an undercoating/rustproofing job, I went back to the shop (I trust these guys) and confirmed they don't take off any engine pieces in their process. Only OTHER time the truck is not parked locked up is at the drag strip where I leave windows open, keys on the armrest, unattended for the day while we're racing.

My main guess here is someone took a dare/bet or just a good prank and swiped the cover after dark when most of the racers and remaining folks in the pits go over to the track or starting line to race or watch. Can't imagine anybody popped the hood while the truck's been locked and sitting in the driveway.

I'm reading here on the forum that many owners just take the covers off and hang them on a wall or stick them on a shelf, the service dep't guy I like at our dealership tells me the covers don't serve any purpose anyhow. Still, is nabbing an engine cover a thing among the kids?

To be clear, the cover was there when I refilled the washer reservoir, the anchoring tabs at the back are in place as are the secured nut devices toward the front. Not that I don't appreciate wise-elbow remarks as I'm a bit of a fan myself, but this is a was-there-but-isn't-now sort of thing.

Then it's not a Classic.......and you are in the wrong forum with not enough info

I was told a 2020 Warlock is considered 4th Gen Classic, but I don't follow it that precisely. Have been posting about it here, but if I'm wrong will ask for it all to be moved over.

Not sure which generation my Belvedere is, will have to search out forums where people might know.

the illustration above tells me one thing & that is that both of you may be correct.

A production years begins in July & ends in June

So what that tells me that anything made from July to December 9 2019 would have had a engine cover

December/January is usually when they have the mid year change

The Warlock is a Classic and they still have it as a model in 2022. I do not know when they decided to remove the engine cover, but being a Warlock (top model in the Classic) it may still come with one. I have been looking at Reg Cab short beds (Tradesman and Express) and the 2021 that I have seen with engine photos there is no cover.

Is that Plymouth a 1967? Sure is purty.

Yep, a '67 Belvedere II . I had towed it with an '04 Dakota 4.7L but it started running hot when pulling and they put the Warlocks on clearance so it was time to get a bigger truck.

If its a classic then the "1500 Hemi" badge will be on the fenders, if it's a 5th gen then the badge will be on each side of the hood.

Not quite. My 2014 has a build date of Sept 2014,but it's still a 14,have a buddy with another regular cab shortbox and his vin number is 8 numbers later then mine, and his truck is also a 2014.Both have build dates of Sept 2014.You'd think they'd both be 2015's but not so

I think that i mentioned that July 1 0000 to June 30 0000
Are the TARGET dates for a Production Year

If i didn't mention it in this post, i should have

These last few years, they missed that target
One year, it was November before they started production

This Year i believe that Warren Michigan started the 4th Gen Ram 1500 for 2022 just last month

The 2022 Ram Heavy Duty production either started on November 1 2021, or it will start November 11 2021, but its unusual that they would start in the middle of any week
