Cost depends on the style of the cap and your location. I've seen people post up a similar cap to mine for $500 mre than the $1600 I paid for mine. You might get lucky and find a used one, although to have it painted isn't cheap.

They can be installed and removed quickly depending on what you need the bed for.

Well I have one and swear by my leer 100 XR. It is on a 18 6’4” bed. And from what I was told it would fit on a 19 2020. 2500. With the 6 foot bed If you get a cap get on with only one handle/ lock

I was able to find it on Canadian Craig’s list. Kijiji, it was 6 months old. The old owner had a dui accident so he was parting out the truck, his insurance wasn’t going to fix it. It was colour match so it was a great deal. We paid a third the factory price I wish it had the power lock on the rear windows I am looking at aftermarket power lock. It has the pet window screen but I keep my dogs created up so I don’t need them it also has the led light in the ceiling of the cap. It isn’t carpet but I use the truck for work and play It also came with the roof rack so I am going to weld up a aluminum roof basket this spring.

I had an ARE topper on my '15 for a couple years and while I wasn't meticulous enough with calculations to speak in absolutes I do feel like city mpg went down when I installed it and went up a little when I sold it. Road trip mpg seems/seemed about the same.

I expect this was just the result of having a couple hundred pounds on the truck, maybe I just anticipated it and observed the result I was expecting to observe. Sorry I can't be more precise than that sometimes you just gotta take the hit on a tool because you need what the tool can do.

View attachment 231089 The nice part about the 100XL is the power lock for the cap is integrated into my tailgate lock. Aside from that I like the smooth look of the 100XL, almost makes the truck look like a Suburban.
I did add LED tape lights to the top of my cap.

If you have pets that will ride in the bed, if I'm not mistaken the 100XR has pet rated screens. I don't think there is power locks on the 100XR

I have the same color/model and like the look. Question for you, if I'm going to get mulch, dirt, anything that needs to be dumped into my bed how easy/hard is it to remove the cap temporarily?

I haven't pulled mine off but there is two clamps on each side of the topper(easy to remove), the wiring is a single molex plug, and what the guy at the top shop told me two guys can lift up the top. I think remember the weight is about 180 lbs.

4 Screws 1 plug and 2 guys its on and off in under 5 minutes

Yes, I bought it specifically for my truck. Well ordered, it took 8 weeks for leer to make it. They make them for crew and quad.

Bought this used Jason 2 yrs ago for $300, was bright red and had 1 large crack between the left window and door. Did the repairs and paid $1300 for paint. Still want and need to carpet the inside yet.

You paid $1300 for paint? Holy schlit! Bought my topper used, Snug Top in ugly gold and had it painted Bright White for $400.
On another note, Crew Cab toppers will not fit Quad Cab trucks, the back of the cabs have different angles.

$1300, Yeah, black crystal pearl, tad bit more involved than straight white. This came off a standard cab. If you don't mind the odd gap with the quad cab, this will fit any 4th or 5th gen 8foot bed.
