I have a 2018 ram 1500 RWD that I lifted awhile back. Been wanting to get a better suspension going on it but I’m kind of limited due to the set up my front has. I can’t install coilovers due to the style of it. I’m wondering does anyone else have this issue and does anyone know of a conversion kit I can get to weld the proper tower that will allow me to install coilovers?

What lift do you have on it now?

I have a 7” maxtrac spindle lift. Will most likely go back down to their 4.5” lift some time soon if I can’t get a coilover conversion.
It’s 2wd so your lift is achieved with the spindles and not coils. Coil overs would not really benefit you.

Ah I see. Was more looking for better ride. I know I’m not gonna be achieving stock ride with a lift but it seems to be a bit much at times. I guess my only option is to go back to the 4.5” lift.

So. There is an easy solution. If you swap to the 4wd upper and lower arms and Find a wrecked 4wd and cut the upper strut mount off and weld it to your truck you would be able to run the 4wd struts and have a plentiful selection. Now easy is also relative because while everything sounds easy it requires very precise cuts and welding. There is a company that designs long travel kits that makes a kit for the upper mounts as well for 2wd trucks to run a coil over but requires new lower arms.

Do you know by any chance the company name so I can research that option a little?

And thank you for the information

Dirt king fabrication but they still require cutting and welding and you’re running dedicated coil overs. Cheaper to go the 4wd parts route if you can find a parts vehicle to chop up.

Ok. I’ll have to look into finding someone parting out a truck. Thank you for your help.
