Your Ram has an ETA of November 26 to December 8th
i can't see enough of the Vehicle leg assignment details to see if that is the ETA for Mira Loma Intermodal Yard or the San Diego dealership

You must have ordered something like 360 degree camera or Level 1 package or level 1 equipment

Those all take fancy microchips & they are not available until hell freezes over or at least turns to slush

Maybe you can go to your dealership & ask for a change order
At least get clarification from them
Yeah, I ordered with Level 1 Equipment Group, Trailer Tow Package, and Night Edition. When I was ordering, dealership told me 6-8 weeks (that was back August 2nd). I can honestly wait so that I get exactly what I want, whenever that is. Contacted FCA support to see the status, as the dealership has not been very helpful. They asked if I had a case open for the matter, which I had no idea could be done. Support opened a case and now I have a rep following along with the build process and will, supposedly, help expedite things. I don’t really believe that but we’ll see.

Wow...6-8 weeks, how strong was the crack they were smoking at that dealership? Maybe before parts shortages and covid, but that was a bold line to give you for that order time.

Sounds like a nice build though when it does show up.

You placed your order August 2nd
figure 3 months until delivery if the order was for a Ram 1500
December 2nd
That was before the microchip shortage

for Heavy Duty Rams, delivery is 15 to 16 weeks, longer if the microchip shortage enters its ugly head

level 1 equipment group includes some things that may be restricted,
due to the chip shortage

don't know how things may change day to day

I ordered a Rebel on July 17 with the GT package, level 2 equipment, Rebel 12, comfort and convenience, and advanced safety group package. It’s been in D status since early august and neither the dealership or ram cares can give me any info or an ETA. I’m considering cancelling the order and trying to buy a truck from whatever is available around where I live.

The JS Code will also happen if it got damaged before shipping. Scratches (or Foreign Object Damage) dents, broken or cracked glass.
I've also seen them get this code when sent to Heavy Repair.
(This is for major issues like engine failure, transmission failure, missing hardware or pieces, etc.)

We have to remember that these trucks are assembled almost entirely by humans. The whole chassis system on the frame, the engine and trans being mounted, all electrical connections, the whole interior, pretty much anything you could remove with common tools is done by a human, this introduces a lot of potential errors into the process.

I've only seen one truck end up in Heavy Repair for a bad engine knock. Most of them are there because some operator didn't put all the bolts on the drive shaft or connect the harnesses to the transmission or something. They tend to be easy fixes and are in and out within a few days.

One situation where a guy driving the truck off the end of the line to get the wheels aligned and dyno done had a "low blood sugar" moment and crashed the truck into the back of another and pushed it into 2 other trucks leaving 1 totaled 3 needing all new equipment on the front and rear of the trucks.
I'm curious what code they used for those hahah

I have a question about all of these shipping statuses: I ordered a 2022 Laramie on October 8. On November 17th, my dealer called and said it was built and it was KZ status and leaving Sterling Heights. Awesome! I live in SW Ontario (Canada), close to the border and dealer confirmed it would be trucked from plant to dealership (no trains, etc).
Now, a few weeks later, the dealer calls every few days to say the truck is at the ‘Detroit River yard’ and should be here ‘in a day or two’. Is this normal? He has told me that there is a ‘release date’ - but won’t tell me the date, and he has also said ‘they are waiting for a full truck of vehicles bound for my specific dealership’. Something he called a ‘cross dock’. Any of this sound familiar and I am just being paranoid? Or is there something they aren’t telling me?

Are you able to lookup your build sheet and window sticker yet? That would be the best way to verify if the truck has been built or not yet, links for that here:

If those pop up for you, go buy some lotto tickets as I'd wager you may have the quickest Canadian order in the past year.

I don’t have the VIN (truthfully, I have never asked for it). I just have the VON and a copy of the buildsheet that the dealer submitted.

I agree. I was told 8 - 12 weeks at time of order, and when they called to say it had been built and shipped, I mentioned that it was really fast. The response was that they build high-margin vehicles (Laramie, Limited, etc) first, along with vehicles that they have parts for (I didn’t order a sunroof or blindspot tech, etc).

I will be surprised to see it before Christmas, and I do feel they aren’t giving me the whole truth. However, I had an oil change scheduled last week on my 2019, and the dealer called and cancelled it, telling me that they will do it when my new truck arrives (before they put my 2019 on the lot for sale) and they didn’t want me paying for service when I wouldn’t have my truck much longer.

I'd get the vin and check those links, the build sheet they provided at order was more likely the POC (purchase order confirmation) which is different than the build sheet that we are referring to here with the link provided. That build sheet lists literally every standard/optional equipment item on the truck (9-10+ pages) and only becomes available after the truck has completed the assembly line. The window sticker will only show up once the truck has completed the vendor accessory installs and has a shipping date. That's why checking those two links would tell you a lot more about where the truck is at.

It's good to check the build sheet once available anyway just to verify the truck was built correctly to the way you ordered it.

Where you live in Ontario makes a difference

No matter which Assembly Plant builds the Ram, there are only 8 miles apart.
A semi truck is loaded at the plant & is driven across the Sarnia Bridge, at least that is how they did it 4 years ago

They would load 1 truck with Rams going to a general area like Kitchener, London, & Hamilton, they usually carry 7 Rams at a time

If a customer lives north of Sudbury, i don't know how it would be delivered, truck or train.

I will try to call and get the VIN. They told me it would be here this past Friday, so when I didn't hear from them I called and asked for an update. I was basically told they will call me when they hear something (translation: don't call us, we'll call you) - so I don't want to keep pushing them for information and have my truck all of a sudden be 'delayed' indefinitely. Do you think I could get the VIN from calling customer service with the VON?

Wouldn't hurt to try the customer service, they may be able to give it to you. Otherwise, how much are you giving this dealership for this truck? You're entitled to your vin, here in the U.S. we typically get it within 2-3 days after ordering (I had to ask my dealer for it but they gladly gave it to me). Of course some dealers are better than others, so I understand trying the customer service route first. I should mention getting the vin within a couple days of ordering does require the dealership to actually place the order and the factory to accept it.

Without the vin though you truly are at the mercy of what they are telling you, with no way to verify if it's true/if you're truck was built correctly.

I do trust them to a degree. This is my third 1500 with them, but my first factory order (the other trucks were purchased off the lot). My sales guy is great, but he is (in my opinion) a little handcuffed by the sales manager. I will text him tomorrow and see if I can get it from him. I have the order sheet from when they submitted the order, and I have the texts saying when the truck went D1 and (supposedly) went to KZ(??). My confusion comes from where they claim the truck is. They keep telling me the 'Detroit River yard' which isn't close to the Sterling Heights plant. Unless they use this yard as a staging area for trucks that cross the border...And if that's the case, the truck has been there for almost two weeks.

Unfortunately this is where my knowledge ends on the subject, I don't know of a way to see where the truck is when it's going to the dealer from the factory. That part I did have to completely rely on my dealer for information.

You can always ask the sales manager or assistant sales manager for your VIN #
I would ask politely & if they come up with excuses, then call RAM Chat & ask them & mention that the dealership is stone walling you

They know exactly where your order is on their property & why it is there.
They could even find out where it is while it is in Transit, but it is a little harder

Quick update on my August 18 order. Vehicle is now in the rail yard and expecting delivery to the dealership today or tomorrow for pickup. I will confirm once I have it.

So I called RAM customer service, and after a few minutes (and providing the VON) they confirmed the truck will (should?) be at the dealership between 11/29 (today) and December 3rd (Friday). So, we will see.
