Hello all,

New to the idea of chains, also just picked up a 2018 2500.

It came with slightly larger than stock tires 295/60-20.

I am looking for a set of chains to have just in case for an upcoming road trip north to Montana.

I see many threads and ideas but the sizing does not say it will fit my tires.

Been searching for couple days off and on and still having trouble finding a set that fits those tires.

Any help would be amazing.

Looking for cable style but if need be will use links.

Thank you in advance!

Probably will not find cables, but if you try an industrial supplier they can probably cross reference close and you can trim to fit chains.

Laclede Alpine Sport 2335 are listed to fit that size, not sure how they hold up on a 2500 though. But then, you're not likely going to drive 100s of miles on them. These are chains, not cables, and Laclede chains are sold under various brand names, just look at the design. Cables are pretty close to useless anyways.

Are the tire/wheel an optional size? Should specify in OM what class of chain and likely only run on rear axle. However, chains that fit your wheel/tire are here: https://www.tirechainsrus.com/ and as stated above, avoid cables.

IF you get to the point you need chains on a 2500 4x4 you are past the point of cable chains. Get a proper set of quality chains with V bars from a trucker supply outlet and practice installing them a couple of times on a nice dry driveway. If you have only one set, put them on the front wheels. I won't drive above 40 mph with chains on. If you can go faster than that you don't need chains.

Watch for clearance issues. Owners manual has the following.
On 4x4 2500 model trucks, the use of class “U” snow chains and cables is permitted on the rear wheels only of trucks
equipped with LT245/70R17, LT265/70R17, or LT285/70R17 tires.
