So many options out there, can anybody recommend some bolt-on side steps or a fav site to order a set? I know it's a broad question, just looking for any recommendations or suggestions based on what you all have installed.

I have wheel to wheel Nerf Bars
3" thick wall metal tube , Powder Coated
They usually come with 2 or 3 steps per side

I would not buy the plastic ones, but many people like the looks

make sure the mounts are not flimsy

I would never buy boards that attach to the pinch welds. Frame mounted is the only way to go. Whether off road, or just to prevent corrosion the frame mounts are vastly superior. The exception is the facotry mounted power boards. They fold up completely out of the way and are properly installed to avoid corrosion.

Having spent most of my life in the rust belt of New England I would agree. However, I live in Florida now and don't worry about it very much.

wheel to wheel.. hands down. The running boards that stop at the cab make the truck look forward heavy. Plus, having a step in front of the rear wheel makes it easy to get the stuff out of the back of the bed that unavoidably slides to the cab.

I just installed the Westin HDX steps and love them. Install took me a little over an hour by myself. I bought them at AutoAccessories Garage and it went great.

Amp power steps here. They fold up, so ground clearance isn't compromised, which is important to us offroad folks.

I briefly installed Bullysteps to get us through our two week trip to Death Valley, and they worked great for $60, but only give one foothold up front.

We've taught our cattle dog to use the Amp steps (7" wide) to help jump into the backseat spot. And the power boards stay deployed if you put your foot on them when you close the door, so they are handy for undoing our popup camper clips.

That said, they are $1700 + labor. Ouch
