Hello everyone. 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 5.7 V8 Hemi 2wd. I desperately need a light bar on my tailgate as I cannot see anything at all when reverse lights are on back up. And yes reverse lights work. What light bars would you good people recommend. Price is of concern but not too much overall. I'd say $100 give or take but open to all suggestions. Thank you all in advance.

I’ve put these in my rear bumper of my last two rigs as well as several buddies. Wired to a switch as well as reverse wire with a relay so as to be able to turn them on without the vehicle in reverse. I’ll be adding them to my new Ram as well.

I have the Putco Blade light bar and very happy with it. I also have LED lights mounted below the bumper that are switched independently. I have no problem seeing when I back up.

This is what I did for auxiliary back up lights. Two 20 watts led pods, one Hopkins 5th wheel wiring kit, two muffler clamps, two pieces of angle iron cut to length and holes drilled for mounting of pods and clamps.
These 20 watt pods are really bright and they also make it easy to back up a trailer at night. Total investment money wise about $60.00.
The muffler clamps go around your receiver hitch tube with the open side facing to the front of the truck. The angle iron goes on top of the muffler clamp bracket.
The Hopkins 5th wheel kit plugs into the back of your 7 pin and 4 pin trailer connector, quick and easy wiring. Just cut it off at about four feet. Then just use the backup light and ground wires and cap the rest with shrink tube for future use.
I installed this over two years ago with no issues. Only thing I would possibly do is hang the pods about 2" lower.

DID U have to get the LP Relay kit? Or did U just wire into 7 pin? Enuf clearance on tailgate opening?

I have Rigid 2" pods under the bumper angled to the sides and work great. Also have a 13" LED bar on the headache rack which lights up the sky behind me when needed.

I used a Curt

56584 wire adapter to attach to the trailer harness reverse lamp wire and ground without cutting or tapping factory wires.

This kept all wires under the truck and can go back to stock by unplugging the adapter.

My truck is a 2021 2500. I am not sure if this is the correct harness for other years but I suspect it is . Tailgate clears everything with no issues. The light is really no thicker than most license plate frames.

I just bought a pair of 4" square led pods(with amber signal in middle) and mounted them in my rear bumber just above the exhaust holes. I then wired them to the reverse wire in each respective light with a 2 pin waterproof connector. Makes it easier if I have to remove the bumper for any reason. Oh and I didn't do this to the original bumper, that is in the basement wrapped in a bag. I found a good used one and worked with that, then had it painted. No Mickey Mouse here.......

It won't be about 60 these days, unless I'm looking at the wrong harness lol.

I put a pair of Quantum from AutoZone on my cargo rack and put a power jack in the cargo light on the back of the cab then tapped the reverse lights so they work in reverse or with the cargo light switch.
