So I’m planning on upgrading the mirrors on my 2016 RAM 1500 Express. I want to add power-fold mirrors. I have purchased the new door control modules and master switch and now i’m browsing for power-fold mirrors. I came across a set of mirrors off a 2020 Big Horn that have the current features my mirrors have (puddle light, turn signal, heat) for a great price. My question is, has anyone put 5th gen mirrors on a 4th gen Ram? I read through a forum from a few years ago that said you need to adjust the pins and wires but that was from late 2019 models. Any help/insight would be great. Thanks!

2016 Ram 1500 Bighorn could be had with puddle light, power folding, heated regular mirrors
That is what my Ram came with

this is a HUGE assumption but:

the 2021 Ram 1500 mirrors are not used on the 2021 Ram 2500 trucks. The door structure of the 2500 is still likely the same as the older Ram. FCA updated the 2500 to mimmic the new 1500 but didn't use the newer style ram mirrors on it. so my assumption would be that the newer 2021 mirrors do not fit or will require modification to fit.

again, huge assumption so I could be completely wrong.

2019+ 5th gen 1500 mirrors will not fit on a 4th gen ram, the triangle mount is different.
2019+ Heavy Duty Ram mirrors will fit on 4th gen Rams, but all the wiring in the two mirror connectors that plug into the door modules will need to be rearranged, as the circuits are in different pin positions.

Which pins need rearranging for 4th gen to work on 5th gen?

Assuming this is for a 2019+ HD Ram, which is not a 5th gen, this is the pin position rearrangement. The left column is the 2013-2018 mirrors, so ignore that it says “GM mirror”. Before you start, note the wire colors and their original positions, in case you lose your place while swapping wires. If there is no wire in a listed position, just skip it and move on.

I believe Benny a vender here can get a pair of color matched sport mirrors for under 500, was closer to 400 when i was looking. Has all options except memory which only came on Laramie and above and chrome. @AllMoparParts.com
