I noticed last night when I parked and had the wheels turned hard left. That when i was walking back to the truck this linkage looked to be dropping pretty low. This doesnt seem right.

Is this normal it just dangles?

The wheels are straight in these pictures but it still seems to have a lot of slack. I would assume this is supposed to be mounted to the frame in some fashion. I just bought the truck last week 2016 big horn 1500 30k miles.

Parking brake cable I would say.

should not be hanging that low.

Thanks I will schedule an appointment to get it taken care of. I didn't think it should be that low as it could get caught on stuff

You do not appear to be missing any mounts, but it does look a little saggy. Mine is as straight as a board. I'm thinking it may need to be tightened, but not sure if you would tighten it at the area in your first pic. Never had to mess with it. I am sure someone here can let you know where to tighten it at.

Found a few other threads could be corrosion in the rear parking brake mechanism that doesnt allow a lever to return to the normal position which then has slack in the line.

I've seen this on my friends truck and it's what the guy above said.

I would not adjust until the issue is found. My drivers side parking brake lever was frozen from rust and not releasing, once found and fixed it didn`t need adjustment.

I'm not going to adjust it myself. I hit it with a lot of wd40 and it seems to be a little better. Going to let dealer look it

I just found the same issue with my truck. What ended up being the solution when you took it in?

My 2015 has been doing this too, I have to bang it back with a hammer at the wheels. Does anyone have a video of replacing the corroded levers? I see dorman has the levers and rubber boots, but not sure how they attach to the drum brake hardware. The dorman p/n is 924544. If the OEM levers can come out easily, I might wire wheel them and paint and lube and reinstall or just get the dormans.
