Just bought a 2020 1500 Classic. I want a bit more rumble sound from my Hemi. In searching for exhaust tips, I noticed different sizes - 3-inch and 5-inch. Which fits my vehicle (single muffler design).

The tailpipe on the single side exhaust should be 3"
Check what exhaust tips your looking at as the dual exhaust tips are a smaller inlet size.

Are you just looking to chrome it up a bit?

Throwing a tip on it like that isn't going to do a thing in terms of noise/sound.

Get a 24" Mufflex kit. It's perfect on the single exhaust. I honestly wouldn't want it louder. Replacing the tip is tricky. There's not much room to work with, and there's funky angles.

100% on that if you want cool sound.

I've got the Mufflex muffler delete kit on my single exhaust 2019 classic and left the stock tailpipe / resonator section as is. I call it the full blown 'Murica package. It sounds flag flyin' awesome, but it is LOUD when you get on it, especially for the poor souls on the tailpipe side, and the MDS noise and vibration in the cab is bad w/out the huge OEM muffler. I have to toggle MDS off during around town driving or the rare times I'm in stop/go traffic.

I don't know what frequencies the stock single exhaust resonator is supposed to filter out, but when you remove the muffler, it doesn't seem to do much. LOL

The Mufflex kit is plug-n-play. A real easy job given the band clamps that hold the OEM muffer in place.

I just looked up the Mufflex. There are three versions (only difference is the level of sound from what I can tell). Not bad for the price either. I will do more research next week.

While I believe this maybe exactly what I have been looking for (simple and not over the top, are there similar options from Carvens, Borla, Flowmaster, etc?

^ Not for single exhaust when I researched. The most difficult part about the Mufflex kt, was removing the original muffler. That took some pounding and prying -- even though mine was on about 18 months.

Yeah, mufflex is the only outfit I know of that sells the muffler delete kit for 4th gens with the single exhaust. It was someone on here that clued me in on that. They also make a delete pipe for the dual outlets as well AFAIK.

My OEM muffler was in place for 2yrs with all rust belt use and luckily it came right apart with my 1/2" cordless rattle gun and some spray lube for the clamps and rubber hangers.
