No you don't. They have a standard screw on the back which you can use to adjust, either with a phillips or an 8(?) mm socket.

I have the second gen hybrids for the 5th gen, they just came out a month or two ago. Just realized you and @bm02tj are running 4th gens so your version of the hybrids are different than mine (definitely a different part number) so my bad; on my lights I have a standard screw to adjust lights up and down, but the part number you listed still shows both a vertical and horizontal set screw:

^^^ this says "security check"?? Dunno why, it's a link to carid.com with the headlights you are referring to with pics

On my truck, being in Canada, I had to purchase the tazer dt to disable the DRL's. If you don't turn off DRL's, then the headlights will flash on and off for a few seconds everytime you start it, and morimoto says this is not good. If you live in USA, you might have the option to go into uconnect and turn off DRL's. Since I'm in Canada, that option isn't there (legally required to have DRL) so I had to use tazer dt to bypass that and turn them off.

The hybrids come with their own DRLs that you tap into the fusebox. Mine came with everything, all the wires and connectors plugged in perfectly and they gave me a special wire to tap into the fusebox as well. All plug and play in the box.

Now that I have the DRL issue sorted, I don't have any error codes showing up in my truck that I'm aware of, nothing shows up in my dash. I have not confirmed that with an ODB2 reader, just assuming it's all good there.

As for the light output... I'm used to halogens all my life, these are my first LED with projector style and I'm not going to lie, it's going to take a bit to get used to them. Halogens have more spread, when you look down the road the light softly fades away into nothingness. With projectors, you get a bright solid light, and then at the edge of that light it's completely black. So your beam pattern is less of a floodlight and more of a thin horizontal line that is aimed just under the eyes of oncoming traffic. This is apparently common with all/most projectors, and not just a morimoto thing.

As your truck goes down and up hills and dips, you will have spots up ahead that are completely black until your truck points up again, it can be unnerving. You definitely want these to be calibrated perfectly so that you are not too high and burning holes in eyeballs, nor too low and not getting enough light up ahead on the road. YouTube has enough tutorials on how to aim your lights.

But that highbeam, is absolutely glorious. When I'm driving down a black road and there is nobody in front of me and I switch to highbeams... it's like daylight (exageration). Never had such powerful high beams before, and the beam pattern is more floodlight style again with no sharp cutoffs.

I love the DRL style on these lights, and I'll probably get used to the low beams as well. Just wanted to mention it before you spend the money, it might potentially drive you nuts.
