New member here from MASS/USA, with 2020 ram 1500 5.7 in patriot Blue. Love the truck. Now I need advice on some tires for handling the New England winter, and still do well with a little off road while camping, and the highways to get there.
Here's our "new to us" truck...and I giggle every time I say "HEMI" !!!!

Welcome to RamForum, congrats on the great looking truck. As for tires, you might look at a few of the better rated AT tires, maybe ones with the 3PMSF rating. I typically use TireRack as my starting point for ratings. Do a Forum search if you want some real world experience (be prepared for more info/opinions than you ever wanted!).

Be sure to check out the 5th Gen section https://www.ramforum.com/forums/5th-gen-2019-present.179/ .

Thanks!! my first real big boy truck. As I may have mentioned always drove smaller s10's and frontiers. Loving the ram so far. I have questions about tires. WOndering if you have any input as I am search this forum for some advice but man, there is a TON of advice out there.

The 275/55R20's that came with the truck are...lets say, not very "trucky" ...I'm considering investing in something that is more for hauling our camper (6klbs) a little dirt road stuff in the cam grounds, and definitely need to consider the new england winters. My current tires are very "warm road/highway" friendly. Quiet smooth ride, but I tested them ona light snow fall we had here recently and well I can say I am "concerned",.......would you have any thoughts or experience with tires with your truck yet, or other trucks for that matter.

I'm kind of "locked in" on the Michelin Defenders, but open to other options...thanks/gary

:welcome:

What I run on MY 19, Falken AT3W's, "C" Rated, did not need the "E" rated. A lot run Michelin Defenders, Coopers AT-3's, Toyo HT's, kinda depends upon what U wanna spend. I had TOYO's on wife's F150, all good. I have Falken's on My Truck. Worked well in ice and 8" of Snow. Now, no NorEasters here, but just depends how aggressive U wanna be. I personally prefer the Falkens over the Michelin, but U may get more Michelin likers out there.

ADDED; Heaviest I tow is a 2150 lb stock trailer with 3000-5000 lbs of hay and no issues.

BUT yes, the STOCK tires U got IMHO need to go. Replace and sell em privately, get a lil $$$ for em, LOL.

My only experience is the OEM Goodyear Wrangler SR-As. I have to replace one that is no longer safe. Can't do a full set for something new at the moment.
