The OEM remote start doesn't work if there's a CEL.
There is possibly a leak in the fuel system vapor control or the fuel EVAP sensor/pump is bad. It could be a bad fuel cap, the o-ring on them will crack

If it is drivable, go to your local auto parts store & request that they hook up their OBD2 scan tool to your vehicle

Chances are good that the scan tool will show that the truck has a emissions leak, either large or small

Hopefully it will be nothing more than a Purge Valve

It is drivable. At first it only came on when I was at a half a tank of gas. Now it’s on all the time with the engine light on as well.

The gas cap light appears to be common with our trucks, I've had it happen to me twice (2015 w/ 78k mi). There's a fault somewhere within the emissions system. Some of us have had luck replacing some easy/cheap items like the actual gas cap, purge valve, or leak pump. Unfortunately diagnosing this properly is difficult to do at home without proper tools. Your best bet is to go to a competent mechanic to find out exactly what's going on.

I would start with checking the o-ring on the gas cap. Make sure it is not broken/ripped, torn or damaged in any way. Then check the filler tube to see if it is damaged in any way. The slightest imperfections in either of these surfaces can cause the dreaded gas-cap light. Also make sure when you put the cap on you are turning it till it "clickes" a few times. Many people forget to do this when they get in a hurry. Good Luck.

I had it come on and all it took was removing the gas cap and ******** it back on until I heard several clicks. Just speculating, if the cap is still not sealing off completely, apply a very thin coat of motor oil like you might do for the o-ring of an oil filter, then wipe any excess. That might be enough to do it.

1. Remove the cap and throw it in the trash. You didn't want it anyway. Ram guys are tough, no-nonsense. Don't be a pu$$y.
2. Place some calibrated, fault code covering, black electrical tape on the appropriate spot on the cluster.
3. Drive as usual...

Just check to ensure gas cap is secured. I had that a few months back and just found that last time I filled up the attendant didn't get cap on correctly. I still get a check engine light after fill up if it's not cranked on a few turns, but that's a different code than gas cap completely off.
