I’ve tried different gas stations. I try to pump gas and every 30 cents it keeps clicking. Can anyone tell me if it’s a warranty issue. I don’t know what to do I keep calling the dealer and left several voicemails and they don’t return my calls I don’t know what to do

LOL Good luck ! Mine does the same thing from time to time, it actually did it again for the first time in several months yesterday ...

The dealer said they needed to replace the whole fuel tank to fix the issues, time came to get mine done and they ghosted me ....

From your description, I believe so. There have been posts regarding replacement of tanks with used/re manufactured tanks to address, and wait times for parts.

When my neighbour took his in they wanted him to provide a gas card/gift card for a local gas station so they could test. First time they claimed they could not reproduce and charged a no fault fee. Second time they did recreate, and after some fighting he got his not fault fee as a credit to parts/accessories.

The dealerships are just criminals seriously .... they have been getting these complaints for the last 4 years that I have seen just by doing internet searches on these forums and others and "IT SHOULD" be something that they fix without question but since it is not a safety issue that they see they won't do anything

In most cases I don't expect anyone to fix anything they can't reproduce or test for. Too many crooked people and people who genuinely make mistakes.

I've had a few vehicles with this issue over the years and found that filling it slower made a big difference, as well as twisting the pump handle to one side or the other helped. A camper I owned had a sweet spot that simply wouldn't fill unless I held the handle slightly off to the right, and also the nozzle couldn't be inserted all the way in. You might try experimenting with adjustments such as these and see if they make a difference.

Why would someone lie about the nozzles clicking every 10 seconds ? lol ..

This is something that most people even I included have on video, they can't reproduce this for their own benefit lol ....

I get there are well known problems but as a mechanic for nearly 30 years myself I've seen many "complaints" that cannot be reproduced. If the customer wants to pay for the parts and labor then I'd replace anything they want at their expense. The problems need to be verified in order to fix them because it could be something else that's causing tha problems

From another Ram forum:

On my last visit to the dealer I complained about how when filling the gas tank the pump will stop a million times if you try to fill up at the highest speed (or any speed really). They ordered me a new tank and the service advisor told me the order was canceled by RAM. He reordered the tank and that order was canceled too so he called to ask why the order kept getting canceled and he was told they are not fulfilling orders for gas tanks and that they have redesigned the fuel tank. After Jan 22nd he will be able to order the newly designed tank that fixes this issue. I am glad he told me this because I know there are people here with the same issue I have and its part of the 7 yr 70k warranty so most of you that have this issue will get the replacement free of charge.

Let's see if it's true, which I highly doubt lol ...

I had a scheduled appointment to get my fuel tank replaced and then they never answered my calls to go in .... complete bs if you ask me, they have been knowing about this for over 4 years from the forum posts around the internet that I can see ....

This happened to my Audi and recently my wife’s Jeep GC. Both times the dealership knew of the issue and warrantied the problem to ‘fix’ it. What exactly they did…i didn’t pay attention enough because the problem went away. maybe you have a *** dealer?

My wife’s Durango did the same thing. I would get out, pull the pump out and turn the pump upside down and then insert it back in upside down and then turn the pump back on and it would stay pumping. The gas attendant was saying the new style nozzles the stations are using now do it a lot. Definitely a PITA and shouldn’t have to be done but it’s better then sitting at the gas station for 20 minutes trying to fill up.

I had issues on my previous truck, 2020 Laramie. I could mostly fill it, but the pump would shut off with the tank only about 7/8ths full. Having only a 23 gallon tank was bad enough with having an issue even getting that small tank full. My current truck has a build date of 3/29/21. If there was a redesign I should have the new design on my truck.

From the authors post, he is saying that the new designed tank will be available in January 2022, so I’m not sure how your truck built in march of ’21 would have the new design.

Mine does the same thing. I found that if I lift the back of the nozzle handle up, it will fill without shutting off. PIA, but it works.

I have the 33 gal. tank. it is sometimes a pain to get the tank full in the unattended mode. when the trigger wont stay engaged I just manually squeeze trigger till tank full. just means I often am unable to fill tank unattended...not that much of a game changer for me.

Costco has new pumps that have a switch at the base of the nozzle. If not fully inserted it clicks. I've had problems with numerous cars trucks and motorcycles doing the click. Usually changing fhe angle or depth would work. The best fill was the long gone diesel with the pump on a hill nose up. 35 gallons no click no air bubbles filled to the rim. miss that Cummins.

Gas stations especially ones that use vapor recovery systems in response to CARB regulations need to have their flow meters calibrated but greedy gas station owners who want to maximize profits through clocking their pumps to increase the number of daily transactions.

When topping off fuel tank the vapor recover system in your vehicle gets more than vapor and trapping air preventing the act of refueling in an efficient manor.

These conditions separately but when combined together make a simple, necessary act , difficult and extremely frustrating.

The difficulty eventually subsides with the passage of time.

You can use a simple writing instrument to assist in holding the trigger mechanism of the gas pump and by holding the trigger handle a prescribed one quarter of a inch to prevent the tripping of the pump mechanism.
