Hello All,

I'm excited to be a new Ram owner. This will be the first truck for me, replacing my 2011 Wrangler Sport. After some research, I decided to go with the 2022 Ram Warlock V8. I was just wondering if you guys had any insights to share. Is it worth it to wait and upgrade to a Rebel? (Rebel won't be available here until mid-2022, the price difference is an issue, but I can make it happen if the difference is THAT significant.)

I guess what I'm asking is, am I settling for something just okay as opposed to waiting for something great?

Any suggestions for aftermarket upgrades? Right now I'm only thinking of Fox shocks if the ride isn't comfortable (I only test drove the Laramie, I'm assuming there would be some differences with the driving experience). Body/utility upgrade recommendations are welcomed as well!

Thanks :)

Welcome! :favorites13:

well the rebel is a new body (5th gen DT) and the warlock is a 4th gen DS
so those are big differences
other than that I love my 21 warlock hemi! It was the perfect choice for me!.

If you can swing a Rebel, get the Rebel. I've always been a believer in starting with the highest trim you can afford, as opposed to "built, not bought". I would have loved to get a Rebel, but it was way outside my budget (and I wanted new, not used). I went with a '21 Warlock and absolutely love it, and I'd bet you will as well. But after coming from a '15 Challenger R/T Plus, with every option you could check off, I do miss the bells and whistle's from time to time.

Whether or not it's "worth it" is entirely subjective. To me it is, but I also believe the added premium for a TRX is worth it as well. Can't afford either one, so it's a moot point. lol

Thank you!! It works kind of different over here. One dealership for the entire (tiny) country. There's a white one available in a couple of days I'm supposed to go see if I like the color, etc. If not there's another shipment coming in mid-jan with a silver one. Black is sexy but would be a poor choice in our scorching heat.

I just have the specs to go by at the moment :) Will definitely post some pics once I make that decision!

The 5thgens have way more tech and will have parts in production for longer. I find the back seats more comfortable and like the increased payload/higher bed sides, but find the front a bit fuggly.

I had a very hard time abandoning my 5th gen order and the tech toys I had selected after I settled for a 4th gen off the lot.

I can’t help with your question as I went from 2017 2500 Laramie Cummins to a 21 1500 Laramie. But Just for grins, what’s the cost of gasoline in Kuwait.

Color definitely should be a concern for you in kuwait. My truck is black, second choice is white. The white will be cooler for you and will appear more clean with all the dust storms and desert climate.

One thing to note, people on the forum will always be willing to spend your money lol. I'm sure the premium between the two trims is even greater in Kuwait than people who have responded realize. Best bet is probably to do some introspection and identify your personality. Do you often seek more lavish items or often have buyers remorse wishing you upgraded? Check out the specs and see if the rebel has something you just couldn't live without.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll enjoy either.

I will say to avoid the Rebel all together.
I purchased a new one and it was a pos from the start. It was raining during the test drive so I thought the wet roads were causing it to drift all over the road.
But even on dry roads it wold wander side to side, and not go straight at all. Had it to 3 different different dealers and all of them said it was ok being a off road truck.
Then the there was problems with the air bags goind down over night at times, with the repair parts on national backorder and not being able to drive it. Along with other transmission and other problems. I ended giving it back to the dealer, with 6k miles, and purchased a new sport edition.

It looks like in Kuwait you get a very similar the spec Warlock to what we get in Australia. They are one spec here very similar to what you listed. From memory they are:

Crew Cab with 5'7" tub
1" lifted
Black Pack
Electronics Group
Tow Group
Rambox

Welcome man.
Like others I love my warlock. Once in a while wish I got a rebel. But it’s easy not to miss what you don’t have.
I often forget about the subtle difference.
The nice part of a 4th Gen (warlock) vs a 5th Gen (rebel) is aftermarket parts are cheaper since 4th Gen spans more older models and 5th is new so less aftermarket and higher prices. Just my option.

Two suggestions.
One, take both build sheets side by side and see who’s missing what.
Two, if you can find a rebel (car rental places) rent it for the day. And test drive a warlock. Try both in same day and see for yourself.

It’s very subjective. But your money and your truck!

Good luck, keep us posted
