Hey a couple question on my new method 305 wheels. They have the simulation beadlock ring on them. Does this ring have to be taken off prior to mounting? If it does I’ll do it prior to bring them to get mounted. I don’t need some moron to fk them up. Secondly should I have hubcentric rings or won’t they even work because of the push through center cap design? Thanks everyone.

I took mine off my self not sure if its nessary or not. But i trust myself a lot more then the tire guy not to scratch or **** them up. Even if they come good and want to replace a ****** up one you may need to wait for months to get the new part so I just didn‘t give them a chanc.

Good call. I’ll remove them prior to the install. Just wasn’t sure if it was necessary to have them in place for installation. How about hubcentric rings?

are you sure the fake bead rings come off? If they do I would want them on for balancing. My buddy had the method fake bead lock wheels and only the little bolts actaully came off but the ring itself was a cast part of the wheel.

I bought Hub Centric Rings for my 305 NV and there is a Bevel on the inside of the wheel so they don't fit tight. They move in and out so I removed them. Really the lugs center the wheel when tightne'd.

wheels that use coned lugs ,the lugs and studs are your centering mechanism.

Most method wheels are lug centric not requiring a hub ring

hub centering rings are a sham. a joke. a gimmick. like maghytec flat diff covers that hold 9qt of gear oil.
for a centering ring to be effective the inside has to be machined exact to the axle hub and the outside machined exact to the wheel bore. from my experience they arent machined exact which leaves radial slop between the wheel and ring. rendering the ring completely useless.
also theres no use in having two centering mechanisms at the same time on the same wheel. nearly all aftermarket wheels are machined to center on the studs. some factory wheels are machined to center on the axle hub but normally use a totally different lug design

yeah I don't know how a hub centric ring would work with the center caps anyways.

yeah the wheels on our 4runner were like that. totally different lug. I do find the rings to be helpful in setting the wheel on though. rather than the lugs dragging the wheel around to make it center.

They won't work on the 305. There is a Bevel on the inside of the wheel. Also the rings interfere with the Center caps.
