Took one look under my wife's 2021 and saw this ******** and said nope, not dealing with this today. Drove to the dealership, never had to get out of the truck, the changed the oil/filter right there in the bay. 15 minutes later I was out the door and apparently had 3 free oil changes. I used to be skeptical of the dealership/technicians but as I get older, the less I GAF. If they break something on a new warrantied vehicle then it sounds like thats a THEM issue and if they ding the door or F something up I've already gone over the car with a service advisor and point out there are no flaws/blemishes or curb rashed wheels. If the vehicle all the sudden has any of these items upon pickup I made them write up a retail quote and how much it costs to remediate and then tell them i will take it elsewhere for the repair and have never had an issue getting them to cut a check.
Now, if you go to some shut **** dealership then this will not be the norm.

Take a look at Trans-Dapt kit # 1127. You can find other thread about this here with pictures. It's an oil filter relocation kit that will allow you to put a remote filter on the frame beam just above the sway bar. You can still wrestle leaving it at it's actual location using funnel made with a milk jug, use a ziplock around filter, etc... But that will still be a messy and painful job. Filter relocation make an oil change a snap. Just like you, I can't wrap my head around how FCA engineers manage to put a maintenance item in such a poor place.

I am very interested in this kit. How do I go about finding it on this site?

Let the dealership just change the oil and dump oil all over everything and not wipe everything off.Is what happens.Just like changing waterpumps and spilling antifreeze everywhere and not cleaning it off.But hey! They are factory trained techs and know how to make a proper mess.

But that’s not to say that all dealerships are bad some really value their reputation
They are all bad...their bad day just may not have rolled around yet! Lol. And if anyone keeps s*c*r*e*w*i*n*g* around with the dealership they'll draw that so-called "winning" ticket eventually. Not talking bout that "everyone is not perfect type day either"

Have to agree for my dealerships locally, they could give me 100 free oil changes and I'd never use one. I don't want to do it either, but my cousin has his own shop where I can actually trust them to do good work on my truck without breaking or leaving my interior dirty. They will get my money every time.

I'm jealous of the few here that have good dealerships they can trust, I wish that were the case around here as well. Same reason I'd never consider an extended warranty, I don't want to leave my truck with a dealership unless it's my last resort (maybe something very expensive covered under warranty verse not). Outside of that I'll gladly pay out of pocket for peace of mind and ONE trip to get something fixed, not several. Glad I have friends and family with garages here locally.

Last summer I had my local dealer align frontend. They didnt torgue the lower control arms properly and the alignment shifted badly and my frontend was making popping noises not long afterward.Of course they blamed me.And then sent me offers for future services in the mail. Lol

LOL yeah I trust them to work on my vehicle as much as I do the cable company. I've only exercised my warranty twice on my 4 ram trucks that I've had and I tried 2/3 of my local dealerships, and between the lack of efficiency/quality of work/disrespect of my truck (way dirtier when picking up on the inside) I'm good on going back unless I absolutely have to. And that trip would be followed by a trip to my cousins shop to check their work.

Again, very jealous of some others here that have trustworthy service departments cause I know they exist. They just aren't in my part of the world.

Try Amazon, or most parts store can have it. Just google it under the shopping tab if you want to buy local.

My missus bought her jeep at the same dealer that bought my truck at. She bought the maintenance package when she took it in for her first service they said they had no record of her buying it needless to say she lost her sh&@ luckily the person who wrote the deal was there but they asked for me to bring it to them not her next time there’s a reason they call them heracanes run for cover lol

... I go with the offer that Ram has through the dealership it cost me 33.00 per change ...
Local dealers quoted between $170-$210 for an oil change without coupon, $145 was the lowest with. Quick lube place was not too far behind.

...i have owned many models and makes of trucks, cars and motorcycles over the years. ...
3rd gen RAMs were easier too. Serviceability in general's getting worse as the frequency of service is reduced, and other considerations take precident. Compared to other modern vehicles, RAM is about average.

33 bucks doesn’t even buy 2 litres of the recommended oil
What oil are you buying? Lmao. These trucks don’t recommend synthetic oil but even if they did it doesn’t cost $16.50 a quart. You’re doing something wrong lol.
