Has anyone actually installed the Earls / Holley kit on their truck. Looking at the Trans-Dapt kit is shows the adapter that goes in place of the filter with the oil lines coming out. The Earls kit show a block off plate, and the oil line are installed in a different location. Without crawling under the truck, I can't vision where those lines are connected ? I like the simplicity of the Trans-Dapt kit, but prefer the -AN fittings of Earls

What oil are you buying? Lmao. These trucks don’t recommend synthetic oil but even if they did it doesn’t cost $16.50 a quart. You’re doing something wrong lol.

He is from Canada and a cursory look of premium oils sold up there show a $13-$16 a liter/quart Canadian dollar rate. At todays exchange rate, $16 Canadian Dollars is roughly $12.59 US dollars.

The cheapest I can find PUP 0w40 is $14.29/L…. Plus tax.

Canadian tire had 4.73L jugs of Mobil 1 FS 0w40 for $29.99 last week. So that’s what was bought.

Also wix filters are $5-8 on rock auto.

Let the dealership just change the oil and dump oil all over everything and not wipe everything off.Is what happens.Just like changing waterpumps and spilling antifreeze everywhere and not cleaning it off.But hey! They are factory trained techs and know how to make a proper mess.
I fully understand what your saying but either they make the mess or I do. I take it to the car wash after they change the oil and $2 later, mess is gone.

Mopar oil change packages are the only way to go. Find a good dealership and let them do it.

The only positive I see; and the only reason why I would even see that as a positive is because if you’ve got a long warranty on your vehicle, that could possibly help in the long run depending on how much of a ******* your dealer wants to be if something were to happen and they frowned upon you doing your own oil changes.
It's an ease thing that's all... if at 30K miles you wipe out a lifter lobe, you don't have to shuffle thru all your receipts, prove oil changes were done at correct mileage (anyone can reset the oil monitor and not change a drop). If dealer does it, date/mileage are all there for them to see at a glance. No ifs and or buts about it.

I broke a volve spring at 40K. I had to show every receipt for every oil change I did (and if you don't copy the reciepts, they will fade) before they would honor the warranty claim

I think he was just merely suggesting that if that’s something you wanted but in my opinion, unless you’re driving in some really dusty dirty conditions that just a simple one filter oil filter relocation kit will be all you need.
Yup.. 100% correct.. it's just an option that's all. Some folks like to run doubles, to me a quality single one is more than adequate..

Will installing any of these relocation kits possibly void my warranty?

If you can find pennzoil 0-40 at crappy tire you are lucky 3 different stores nothing I went to 1 of the local dealerships nothing I asked them so what oil would you use if I wanted them to change the oil they said Mobil that isn’t the recommended oil so when I found a Napa that had some I bought all they had synthetic oil is the recommended oil for my truck i believe

The exchange and shipping were 2 of the reasons I built my own rock sliders and tire carrier plus it’s fun to build stuff welding is a good skill to have

I’ve never seen 0w40 PUP at Canadian tire anywhere. Napa has it, so does Oh Canada supply. Napa will sell you a 208L drum for $2000.CB66843D-7E7C-4EAF-80EB-EB424738B1DC.pngF7F6A8F2-2423-4C70-8D84-A60B2E86915E.png

Rock auto shipping is never free and it’s a bit of a pain to line up products that ship together. I usually put in a big order, parts for the truck, GFs car, bike, quad, ect. You can save a lot of money doing it that way. Don’t forget to add wiper blades to the order.

If the drive to a dealership wasn’t over an hour down the mountain away, that’s what I would do!

I’d rather do it myself knowing what I’m paying for, no cheap oil and filter.

My wife’s caddy had one at the dealership, they used some cheap no label filter and had it overtightened so much I had to drill it…people never treat someone’s else’s vehicle as their own, can’t trust it.

In 35 years of owning vehicles I have never not changed my own oil. But after 2 DIY changes on my 2019 1500 Hemi I am very happy to pay someone else to do it from now on. ‍
I don’t trust others because I have to repair and replace too many stripped oil pans on customers vehicles.

Yea, but it's hard to shake a drum to mix the additives that settled before using.

And if the drum of oil ever needs shaking...the person doing the shaking is the problem. Lol

A 208L dum will get you around 29 oil changes in a 6.4. 261000kms of oil changes with a 9000km OCI. I don’t have room for one nor do I have a propeller type internal drum mixer. I like the idea of it though.
