I have a 2014 Ram 1500 CC 4x4 that I use on a daily basis and also use to tow a 26' camper. I need to replace the shocks and looking for the combination of the best quality ride but also handle towing. The truck is stock height. Any recomendations?

Get the correct Bilstien non-adjustable shocks. You will be amazed at the improvement in ride. I ordered my new 2500 with the Off-Road package specifically to get the Bilsteirns as factory original equipment. When I replaced the OEM shocks on my 96 with Bilstiens I couldn't beleive the improvement. Had I known I would have tossed the new OEM shocks and switched as soon as I bought it. Have 100,000 miles on the Bilstiens and still work perfect.

I have the 2016 2500 and just replaced my shocks.

Rancho 9000xl all around - setting 9 in back 7 in front. I tow a 9K trailer and like the shocks. You really feel planted to the road.

For replacing the shocks have a sawsall ready for the rear shocks. The front were very easy to to. I got the shocks at 4wheelparts.com when they were on sale 4 for the price of 3.

NOW get ready for this from future posts:
1. Rancho SUCKS
2. Get Bilsteins

I also replaced my steering stabilizer with skyjacker 9014 - I didn't expect any difference but I now notice the steering wheel doesn't wander.

I just replaced the factory Mopar shocks in my 2500 Cummins 4x4 with a set of KYB Gas Adjust Monotube shocks front and rear.
The difference is amazing. I've always had good luck with KYB's.
I tow a 25' TT and a 39' 5th wheel and the shocks work beautifully.

Bilsteins ride a bit firm but for your use I would say that will be what you want. I would recommend the 5100's all around, not that I think they offer the best ride comfort but they will work well for your use.

Message me if you would like a quote on them.

I looked at both and I can't see what the difference is. It's a front shock for a 2wd Ram. That's all I can find. It says front fitment. If you really want to get the info on it, contact Benny @AllMoparParts.com He could tell you.

Some have told me the Billsein 5100’s are a little stiff unloaded. I want to keep the ride quality as close to the stock H-D shocks as I can ( or improve the ride).

When I change my shocks I also want the Smooth ride as I rarely carry a load.
There are tons of Shock thread on sight here and Tons of great opinions !
And for the life of can not remember what brand other then OEM was mention for the soft ride, Maybe KYB ,and I think was told they make the OEM .
Thanks now I have to search again lol as I plan of replacing this spring/summer

The Bilstiens road much better on my 96, and 2021 2500 than the stock OEM shocks ever did empty. I test drove a 2500 that did not have the Off road package and one that does, off road comes with Bilsteins from the factory, and I like the ride of the Off road package much better. Loaded was just as good. You can get softer after market shocks than Bilstiens but I do not find them stiff empty, especially on the 2021 2500 that has coil rears instead of the leafs in my 96.

You’ll love the Rancho 9000’s. The difference between the “1” setting and the “9” setting is HUGE! You’ll appreciate the stiffer setting when towing or have weight in the bed and the softer setting when cruising around town. That’s something you can’t get with Bills.

I just placed an order for KYB truck plus front assemblies and KYB gas a just for the rear. I always been a fan of KYB for street use so hopefully they dont let me down.

I had KYB Monomax on my '14 Ram and I towed with that to. I liked them. It stiffened the ride but in a good way.

Shocks are installed and the KYB seem to ride pretty good. Looking forward to towing with them to see if any improvement there.

Have you had any issues with the Rancho 9000's so far? I installed the adjustable ones in 2019 and lately I have had a severe vibration on the D/S rear end on the highway at 60-70mph. I've had my tires balanced and rotated, had the alignment checked a few times but I still get it every so often (not a constant issue). It's violent enough to cause damage so I'd like to isolate the issue before it breaks my truck.
