Well- tire saga is solved. After shop test fit 35x12.5-20 and even with the level, the tire wall was against the UCA….

And then him (regional manager) going through every system he could- and making phone calls… because supply chain is so janky…

The Falken Wildpeak AT3W (LT295-60-20) that were my favorite tire (truck) I’ve ever owned- but had a puncture at sidewall/tread juncture. They couldn’t get a replacement through any source, so…
He told me he would prorate (had tires for a year) and sell me a new set of whatever…
So- for not much more than the price of one tire, I have new tires:

Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT in LT275-65x20. I lost a bit of width (back to stock), but gained a bit in height.
But with the design and the side biters, it doesn’t look much different than the previous tires.

So far- with about 100 miles so far (including pulling horse trailer to the vet):
very slightly more noise than the AT3W
  • steering feels solid
  • ride is about the same, if not very slightly better.
  • a bit more aggressive- considered a full hybrid tire.
  • aggressive side biters that add to appearance of tire (actual functionality to be determined)
  • 50,000 treadwear warranty
  • They reinstated the lifetime balance, the road hazard coverage, and I still have lifetime alignment.
If anyone cares, I’ll post after I’ve put more miles with an update.
