I tried to get a video cruising on a short highway but it sounds nothing like what i hear.
I Would say pulling a trailer you will hear it at the 1700-2k range, it doesn't tickle my ear drumbs or annoy me like ive heard on other exhausts before. I think any after market straight through your gonna hear this at that rpm.

I love the sound, i think its getting deeper?! Maybe lol I don't step on this truck much but man it goes lol

Again fit and finish and being 304ss i dont think you can go wrong with it, its not much more then a magnaflo but will outlast it.

If i have any issues i will let ya guys know!

How are you liking this muffler now that you've had it awhile? Has it gotten any louder? I know you also mentioned it had a little bit of drone. Is the drone an issue? I just ordered it yesterday and I'm really thinking it might be exactly what I've been looking for........a little louder than stock, but not annoying loud.

Im loving it, no regrets. Its top notch quality.
I think it got a hair louder. Cold starts not loud at all. There is a little bit of a drone under load just before 2k rpm, nothing that bothers me. Dont have any towing experience with it.
I think its a great buy being 304ss, it will last forever vs some of the others out there.

I got the muffler and installed it this past weekend. I'm very happy with it so far and I think it's exactly what I was looking for. Its got a slight bark on start-up, but then it's relatively tame at idle. It's also pretty quiet when cruising, but you definitely know it's not stock. Under full acceleration it sounds awesome, but not obnoxious. I'm detecting very little drone on the highway and that's with MDS on. I haven't messed with turning it off yet. I'll be a towing a boat in the spring, so I'll check back at that time to report on any issue with drone while towing. As others have stated, the quality is top notch. For those looking for a muffler that's not obnoxious, but still sounds good with minimal drone, the K&N might be the ticket for you. Also, to top it off, I scored it on Ebay for $175! Even at the regular price, it's the same cost as the Magnaflow, but with 304 instead 409 stainless steel.

Someone on here added a 304ss resonator to the front of the borla pro xs and got rid of the drone on that muffler. I think any aftermarket is gonna have some form of drone even if people say it doesnt.

I remember pulling my old camper with my avalanche, a cold air intake and cherry bomb! damn i couldn't stand it while towing! But driving around it was great.

Ive seen some tunning pipe added b4 muffler on here also, or a link to one. Supposed to cancel the drone out.

On a side note, the wife didnt ask if i put a louder muffler on lol ill have to step on it and see if she notices..

That was me, the borla pro xs 19” case sounded great but had a cold start bark and a ring of drone in the 1700 area. I added a ZZDP 3” resonator before the muffler and it pulled all the bark out and the drone. The resonator is specifically designed for 4 cyl turbo cars with big exhausts and lots of drone. The good news is it works and it has a empty hollow space in the middle which I though was odd but it works well for a 14” long 5” tube. Also that and the borla are the same length as the stock muffler so it dropped right into place with no mods.

Here is the resonator https://zzperformance.com/products/...tm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping

Muffler actually sounds pretty good. Looking at the pics the welds look like dog $hit on the tail pipe outlets lol but internal looks smooth. Seems that the internal passages are long and not a lot of length for baffling with the roving fiberglass packing. Overall not bad but $400 is a good bit for that muffler.

Looks great! Thats gonna outlast the truck!
My Solo Mach 40 has some surface rust on the extension pipes after 1 winter. Not impressed.

Have you had a chance to tow with it at all?

Any drone around 1500-1700rpm?

Still considering getting this....

Still no towing, id say it would drone just like any aftermarket would. I dont think theres a way around it with straight through designs.
I still like the sound though! Id say it got a hair louder breaking in some more.

How about on the highway? My Solo has a nasty drone when not in MDS but around 1600rpm...

Got the muffler today and installed it after work. I'm extremely impressed with it. I've never been a K&N fan, but this muffler is top quality. It even has notches cut out for the alignment tabs on the factory tail pipes and midpipe. Only other muffler thats been on my truck that had those notches was the factory muffler. Comes with nice clamps too.

It's not much smaller than the factory muffler either but it weighs quite a bit less. It has a nice deep tone at idle.

From my first quick drive with it, it's EXACTLY the sound I was looking for: louder than stock but not obnoxious on the highway. Haven't towed with it yet but from what I've heard of it I doubt it'll be a problem.

Plus its 304 stainless so like @Cableman showed it won't rust much if any if you live where there's salt on the roads in the winter.

Only "bad" thing I can think of about it is it's not really loud if that's what you're looking for.

Highly recommend this!

Looks like in cablemans pics that the inlet pipe into the muffler was showing rust starting on the top half (red/brown) unless that is dirt or dust. Someone should confirm if the inlet and outlet pipes are 304 or 409 with a magnet I also wonder if the welds are 304 or 409. Welding 304 would have a higher manufacture cost which is why most use 409.

Well for comparison, here is what the extension pipes on a Solo Mach 40 looks like after 1 winter in MA

Whatever stainless the K&N inlet pipe is made out of is better quality that this is.
