everyone is different, but no way would I roll tires into a truck loan.. what size tires are you looking for? Toyo makes and owns nitto and they are indeed made in the same factories, most truck tire sizes are made in Georgia.
I know he didn't ask for financial opinions but that's the first thing I thought. If you can't drop $1200 on tires you shouldn't be buying them (oh, sorry $2700...the point is the same). And if you can't justify your spending budget to your wife, that's a whole different issue....

I just find it funny that this seems strange to people. and 1200 lol. I wish. Not sure why people are hung up on rolling a set of tires into a deal. It would be no different than if I decided to roll them in and put 3500 down or whatever which I am doing. It's all how it looks to the wive. Mine could get a rip less about vehicles. Hey hon can I buy new rims and tires for my 70000 truck. No doesn't it come with them? Hey hon I got these rolled in with the deal. She knows I paid for them but the bank account has an extra 3000 bucks in it. I must be the only married one here.

Either way back on track seeing some cared more about me financing a tire than what to choose.....I'm going to just wait till my trail grapplers come in. Just might have to make a drive when they do if I don't get lucky and they come in before my truck does.

Exactly, if you can't afford the tires and outright pay for them you shouldn't be getting tires at all ...

But I would wait for the Nittos, I wouldn't mind the STT Pros because I actually wanted those for my truck, but I don't drive in the snow or ice either ...

At the end man this guy has financial priorities from the looks of it but he also shouldn't put them on the loan lol ... that to me is crazy

No you are not the "only married one here" , but I don't make decisions like that and pay extra just because it is going to keep extra money in the bank account "Right Now" lol

Pay them in cash , it should take you a few weeks to replenish that money spent, or no?

If you can't afford to pay for the tires then why ask what tires you should get and then get mad because others said you shouldn't finance them, if you were going to get mad at the advise of others you should of never mentioned the loan part of it .... lol ...SMH ....

well duh. Why finance a truck if you are going that route. might as well pay cash. pretty sure the interest on a 1600 dollar set of tires isn't going to break me.
Are you really comparing a 40k loan to 2700 ?

This is sound advise being given to you, yet you get mad because people are saying you shouldn't be financing because you are going to pay more for it ...

Why you so hung up on his finance tires?? He doesn't seem mad, you keep going and on and on about it...
It's not sound advice... financing $70k over 8 years or whatever he's doing vs $72k is nothing.

He never claimed he didn't have the money, as matter of fact he said he was going buy other things...
Now he can buy both.

If my dealer would have done that, I would have done it. My finance is zero percent.

If you're heading through the Western States, there's 5 states with some tough winter traction laws. Oregon requires the 3PMSF rating versus having to chain up both our Ram Cummins 4x4 and Power Wagon, if we didn't have the rating on the tires. Utah recommends it, but then enforces it for 2 wheel drive. The 5 states are Colorado, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and California. It's no joy to chain up 35 inch tires. I would get the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss M/T just for the 3PMSF rating versus another hybrid, A/T, or M/T without it due to the traction laws change quicker than my tires wearing out.

I am very glad I don’t travel nor live in any of those states you just mentioned.

Sorry $2700, the point is the same.
Personally you can do whatever the f*ck you want with your money I don't give a sh*t. But you asked for an opinion and provided the details of rolling them into the truck loan "to avoid writing another check" and then get your p*nties in a bunch when a handful of people think it's crazy? I find THAT funny.

Some people find it odd financing something that may need replacement before your loan is paid-off. I thought this forum was about opinions and advice? If you don't like what you hear, don't follow it.

Correct me if im wrong, but the baja boss mt does not have a 3pmsf rating. While there is a small amount of siping on the tread blocks (often not the case with mt’s) they do not bare the 3pmsf symbol. The baja boss at, however, does.

Although looks are a big determining factor for most when it comes to tires, a wiser way to choose tires is determine…truly determine…how you use your tires and what you expect out of them.

Stt pros look cool, as do most aggressive mud tires, but if you drive on winter roads you are gonna be super disappointed. And if you spend a lot of time on paved roads, they will get chewed up and worn down fairly quickly unless you have your air pressures dialed in perfectly and rotate religiously.

That is why I ended up with a set of phenomenal AT tires (falken wilpeak at3w) for the last set of tires i bought. Because i was honest with myself and 90% of my use is on the road, with some towing, and some off roading (which is rarely in the mud anyway). And I live in northern michigan, so a good winter tire was pretty important to me. Trust me, i want the aesthetics of the mt’s, but lets face it, they just dont perform anywhere near as good for probably 75% of most peoples uses.

I’ve had very good luck with the trail grapplers surprisingly. Not great on ice but no tire is truly awesome unless you run studs. I wish they’d slap the trail grappler sidewall on the ridge grappler.

Can't find them anywhere in 35's or 37's though.....

I’m giving them to them. I’ve got fuels on my current truck I’m taking back. The trade I’m getting and deal on the truck more than makes up for it. Going to sell the fuels and throw the cash on the loan.
