For anyone interested, here's my Fox 2.5 coilovers at full droop and full compression! Check out how far into the lower spring perch the shock body goes! The shock shaft travel is 5.76" which gives me about 9.2" of front wheel travel. View attachment 482438

Could you post a picture of how many threads are exposed on your coilovers and did you adjust them at all?

I did adjust them while on the truck which is not recommended but it does work. Honestly, seeing how many threads are visible won't be all that useful unless you have the same weight distribution as my truck. Preload adjusting is a trial and error process.

Im assisting another member and just trying to figure out a baseline. He unfortunately had a shop bottom out the threads thinking that was zero (Im assuming)
If you would post a picture of the threads and how far you adjusted it would help me out

I attached a couple pics of mine.

I counted about 16 threads…..If they all showed up in my pics.

Let me know if you need any more help.

I'll try and get a photo of mine too. Mine are the 0 to 2" lift model.

Thank you I really appreciate it. Are those the 0-2" model or the fox/bds 6" model. I know I know this from your previous threads but they all start blurring together LOL

Mine is from the 2”

I’m just guessing, but I would think the thread count would be the same between the two?!?
Do they make up for the longer shock needed some other way, as in the ends and not the shock body itself? I have no clue???

I should probably give you a more accurate shock count by hand tomorrow. If the pic missed 5, that’s a big difference.

@BellevilleRam do you remember how many turns you put on them? And did you turn them up or down when you adjusted?
I cranked the collars down to raise the ride height as I was sitting too deep into the travel. I'd say 4 or 5 turns. The issue is that they aren't set at any particular amount of preload when you get them. It really is a matter of adjusting then seeing where the ride height is at and tweaking more if needed.

Really? Do you have a picture of them new in the box?
Fox gave me the measurements for what preload should be etc.
so maybe they came bottomed out and the shop did not back them down, what height did you get with them out of the box. 4 turns should be 1/2” does that sound about right?

Mine were set however Accutune Off-Road left them after the custom tuning. I drove them that was for a while to let them settle. I was advised by Accutune to measure the length at ride height then adjust accordingly. Since I wanted more up travel vs droop, I added some preload until I got the right ratio for my particular needs. From the top of the coilovers top hats to the center of the lower shock bolts, they are now about 21" long. Completely uncompressed, the coilovers measure 22.54" from the top of the top hat to center of the lower shock bolt.

If you don't mind, I have a couple of questions about your coilovers, as I live in the same snow crap as you.
After all that time, how do they support the salt and every $%&* they put on the road ?
What kind of maintenance have you done so far with them ?
Have you send them back to Accutune yet ?
Sorry with this attack of questions haha, I just think I can take you as an example!
And thank you !

I'll be honest, even after coating the shocks with Fluid Film protectant, they are definitely showing the corrosion that the Ontario winters cause. I haven't sent them in as of yet and I do keep reapplying the Fluid film to do my best to protect them from the elements. They are performing incredibly well and I couldn't be happier with the valving that Accutune Off-Road did in them!
