1996 Dodge Ram 1500 that was my Dad's and I just inherited it a year ago. Radio BARELY works. Radio only (CD player doesn't work) and I'd say it only works about about 15% of the time. It's totally random too. I'm wondering if I just need to replace the whole thing. I'd like to install a bluetooth radio. Has anyone done this? What is the best radio to replace it with that is fairly easy to do? Thanks for the help/advice in advance

Yes, Crutchfield is great because they will send you everything that is required to install the radio in your specific vehicle. You may find the same stuff a tad cheaper elsewhere, but it is worth a few extra bucks for how easy they make it. So long as you go with a traditional single Din head unit, it is an easy installation with an adaptor. Just be gentle on the plastic while you work on that dash. Be prepared to make some repairs to some of the mounting tabs hidden under your gauge bezel.

Good to know. I'll take it nice and slow. Also... maybe I'm an idiot, but what is a Din head unit? I'm just looking at a basic bluetooth handsfree radio replacement. Nothing super fancy.
