Looking to order a 2022 Limited 4x4. Will I need to add anti-spin differential or electronic locking rear axle if my objective is stability when accelerating onto wet paved roads? Thx

If you drive easy you would need neither. The vehicles traction control would do the majority of the work to prevent sliding or spinning of tires. Just be mindful of everything around you and don’t drive stupid when it’s bad weather or cause for low traction situations. LSD is nice to have for circumstances involving one tire off the road or driving on gravel or dirt roads and traction is limited. A true locking differential is beneficial for full on off-roading or racing and is actually worse for wet paved roads because it will reduce traction to one tire while turning because of the arc radius of being different for both rear tires.

Thx very much. I trading my 2019 RAM 4x2 for a 2022 4x4. I drive primarily on highways in FL. Present truck's traction is usually fine except on wet roads when accelerating - like getting up to speed on an interstate.

That could be a tire issue. Some tires like the stock Goodyear wrangler sra that came on these trucks were terrible in wet weather and one of the first things I did was swap to better tires. It’s also a tire pressure issue in some cases. If a tire is overinflated you have a smaller contact patch which is bad for traction. I’m in west palm beach.

Agree with above, your having a tire issue , more so than a traction issue. In your new 4x4 if your truck has 4WD auto, you can turn that in the rain on the entrance ramp.

anti spin is kind of useless for me . I just put it in 4 wheel drive. Saved myself $500.00.

I had the e-locker on my 2019, but I would have rather had the LSD

E locker kicks out at around 25mph so limited slip for what you're asking for.

I have owned 4 other open rear diff Ram 1500s since 1998 and my new 2021 Ram 1500 Warlock has the factory LSD with 3.92 and the 5.7 V8. I can tell you that the LSD makes a huge difference on wet roads even with new tires Yes the stock Goodyears are bad when worn out, but the LSD makes it a much better truck in the rain and snow both on and off road .

The electronically locking rear axle functions as a limited slip when it is not locked. Get the e-locker, if for anything, a piece of mind when you get off road and you start lifting wheels in the air.

Are you sure? That’s very unusual.

I haven’t heard of an OEM locker that does this since the 2003-06 Wrangler Rubicon. Those were fairly unreliable, prone to breaking.

What did you order? Lockers are best for rock crawling. I tow a big heavy 28’ boat. Limited slip is best for the boat ramp.

It's in the owner's manual for my Power Wagon. I assumed it would be the same on the 1500, but after looking, i was not able to find it.

Your axle has LSD clutches and an e-locker? In a half ton? That's pretty wild.
