Hello all...I'm working on building a 2022 1500....Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection is a must have....from what I'm reading it looks like only a couple trim levels will have that option- maybe the Rebel and Limited...I was looking at a Laramie but it appears BSM/ RCPD is a no go for Laramies. For those who have recently ordered a 2022, what trim level did you get that had BSM and RCPD?

When did they make this change? If I was looking for a pre-owned 2020 or 2021 would those years have BSM and RCTA?

Thanks in advance!

When I placed my order for a 2022 Limited, both are standard features. Unfortunately, I can’t speak to any other trim levels.

They removed BSM from the Laramie for late 2021 models. They renamed Laramie Level 1 and Level 2 equipment packages to Laramie Level A and Level B equipment packages, which exclude BSM. If you're looking for a '20 or '21 make sure it has Level 1 or Level 2 equipment package and you're good to go. If a Laramie you are looking at has Level A or Level B equipment packages it won't have BSM.

Do you think that those fancy gadgets will be in more than just a few Rams, unless they come up with a pocket full of CHIPs ?

Pretty sure they dropped due to the "Chip shortage" on certain models.

They did cut some options from certain models, because of the chip shortage

I'm currently looking at 2022 Rams.
I can't find what I'm looking for option or trim level wise and two dealers told me that I can't factory order a 2022 at this time due to the chip shortage.

I ordered both on my Big Horn. It shows up on my MSRP sticker as well as on the Equipment list. This maybe the reason I've been waiting since July 6th....

I personally would have a hard time ordering a truck without this technology. Even if I dont need it, resale alone. All the other laramies will have it but yours wont. It will end up being the year of truck to stay away from if you want all the gagets when buying used. I know when the sales manager told me I could not have blind spot after travelling 4 hours to trade my truck in (2019 limited 2500 that has blindspot already lol) and they knowing i want a limited I was not happy at all. I asked them why am I here, why wouldnt you guys tell me this before I came. They also laid it on me I could not get night edition, after I drove 4 hours for a prearranged deal! I was not impressed. Thankfully he was wrong about the limiteds and I am hoping wrong about the night edition, he doesnt think he is. I put my order in anyways and havent heard from the dealer to see if I got a vin yet or not. They said they would let me know when they hear anything. But there was no way I was ordering a truck especially a limited spending over $100,000cdn without blindspot. SOrry no thanks. I want all the latest tech. I will use it or turn it off

I used to be of this opinion. Thinking about resale value when buying a new vehicle. Then I realized the folly in that. What's the point of paying for an option you don't plan to use, just because it will bump up the resale value when you sell or trade the vehicle in? It's one thing if you plan to use it. You will get the benefit of that option, then you will get some compensation when you sell. But if it's something you will never use, you're paying more for it than you will ever get back out of it when you sell, and not benefiting from having it while you own it. A $1000 option at the time of purchase might be worth a couple hundred 5 years later. So you lost $800 on that option you never used. You realistically will never get back what you paid for an option.

i dont buy a limited to use all the options, I buy a limited because I want all the options. Blindspot mointoring is honestly a great safety feature and so is cross traffic in these big trucks. I have never turned off either and would want them on every vehilce

It is used every time you back up isn’t it? It has saved my butt more than once backing up

I just picked up a 22 Rebel and that is one thing I regret not getting in the Rebel I purchased. Apparently, almost all the Rebels that I saw in 300 miles radius had Rebel A or Rebel B package without any blind spot monitoring. I drove it today for 100 miles and I didn't really miss it much due to the side mirror having a smaller mirror for manual blind spot monitoring.
