got one of those tail gate light bars for Christmas. It has sequential turn signals built into the bar, and requires a constant power for the turn signals to work.

So, I need a way to provide two separate constant positive feeds to the light bar, that are energized when the normal turn signals are activated.

I need to change the "on-off-on-off-on-off" of the turn signal, into a constant "on". any ideas??

Thanks

What kind of light bar did you get? Needing a constant 12v from the turn signal isn't going to happen.

If the tailgate bar has reverse, get this:
CURT 56584 Replacement Vehicle-Side Custom USCAR 5-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007EA6WQU/
It has a constant +12V,. A four flat and five flat are interchangeable, just need to add bullet connector for the reverse wire which is usually separate on tailgate light bars

The bar is a semi-flexible, mounts with adhesive foam tape, and does not have reverse. It most likely came from Amazon, and was probably at the cheaper end of the price spectrum.
I already have the Curt adapter, and a plug to add to the bar(it did not have a plug installed).
Anyone know how the mustangs with sequential rear signals work?
Is there anything I can add “inline” ? Maybe something like a secondary feed, relay, and capacitor that could keep the bar energized between the blinks of the factory blinker???

10 Amp Mini Timer Time Delay Relay .2 Sec to 400 days 6V 12V 18V. Power On Off Delay, Cycling and Trigger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HNDOCKK/
You would need to keep it dry somehow and use it in the "Delay Off" mode probably set for about 2 seconds.
Sort odd the tailgate bar needs a constant voltage signal for a turn signal to work sequentially. I have sequential lights in my sideview mirrors and that voltage goes on/off

Thanks for the info.
Yep, it’s odd for sure. With it hooked up, when I activate a turn signal, the sequential starts at the center, and lights up about 1/4 of the way across, then goes out. With it hooked up to a bench top power supply, and a constant 12v applied, it flashes all the way across.
It almost acts like an emergency vehicle light bar that’s meant to have separate switches, like for telling approaching traffic to move left/right.
