Can the battery in the key/remote be replaced? I used to be able to use my remote start from over 200 yards. Now I get intermittent reaction from that distance. Closer in is not a problem so I dont think its the key/remote proper. key/Remote has just the lock/unlock and panic buttons. Thanks

Please excuse if this is a duplicate. I didnt see the original. Can the battery in the key/remote be replaced? Mine doesnt seem to have the same range anymore. 2018 Tradesman. key/remote has lock/unlock and panic buttons.

Yes. Remove the valet key and then use a coin or thr likes to pry the case apart.

I also had a small screw hidden by the valet key... 2035 battery if anyone wants to know...

When you replace the FOBs battery
Take out the Green circuit board & clean the large contact point using a pencil eraser, spin the eraser to clean, do not scrub.
Then take the part of the case that has the Panic & other buttons, look at the inside. there are little bumps that press against the contact points & sometimes they work loose from the glue

Batteries Plus will help replace your key fob battery. On a side note they also have fobs for about 1/2 dealer cost and will program them.
