Made the mistake of looking at new Rebels yesterday, and thinking about trading in my 2014. Which engine are you all preferring, best reliability versus performance and efficiency?

Just dump 10K into yours and youll have something 10x better then a Rebel when your done. ;)

With all the problems with the new rams Id stay far away, especially if yours works good.
That’s been my original plan, but I’m going to have to buy something new per my job. Was going to get a new Jeep, but then I started thinking about a new truck altogether and keep my vehicle count at 2-3.

I personally wouldn't get diesel for 1500. 2500/3500 ya. but not for small truck.
But it all depends on what you plan on doing it. My view diesel are best for towing, but 1500 are really limited.

I disagree with @DILLIGAF on putting more money in something old. But that's personal view. remember it's your money.
So what is best for you. My 2021 has been pretty good, couple minor issues. 2022 are having some issues with new Uconnect.
Few more updates, they will work out those issues.

My neighbor bought a new Ram with etorque and is mad as he!! He had initial issues and took it to the dealer. It sat waiting etorque replacement parts for five weeks. The parts guy told him that so many rams had etorque issues that the parts were back ordered. He only had the truck for three weeks. I’d just go with the regular Hemi on a 1500.

Is your work telling you need a new vehicle? If so are they going to be paying for it?

As for the 3rdGen EcoDiesel, it definitely has the fuel economy advantage. People are reporting mid-high 20s mpgs some even pushing 30 on long road trips. If you're towing anything it's even more of a no brainer, I get better fuel economy towing a 3k lbs boat than a Hemi does just driving down the road(mine EcoD is a 2ndGen).

Ive got a 2016 ram eco diesel. I'm getting on average in town driving about 25 mpg. Just did a 300 mile round trip this past weekend. Was getting 32 mpg. Diesel is more expensive but it averages out to be cheaper than a hemi

I'm seriously considering a Eco Rebel because of the MPGs. I travel pretty far and the I like the diesel mileage so fewer stops. I had a 2021 PW that I loved but it came to an unfortunate demise so I am considering this or a TRX. I'm probably better off with this given how much I drive.
