So over the last 20 years I have had so many diffrent audio systems i could have bought a house in cash . Now for the last 5 years I have been doing my own stuff again previous I am very friendly with a high end audio shop in my area they have done crazy setups for me . I have mainly always used hertz interiors , JL subs and audison amps . SQ and SPL always went hand and hand in all my old sound systems it was a simple equation sound deaden the entire vehicle slap in a pionner nav unit a audison bit one with diffrent amps depending on interiors subs were usually w7 or w6 depending room both my f350s had the 13.5 tw5s behind the rear seats . Accord was a single 12w7 suburban was 2 12w7 my 03 cobra had 10w6s etc I am rambling you get the point .

So my quad cab 16 was base 6 speaker system no nav . I did the good old 8.4 nav 7"evic center console swap etc . I honestly didn't want to spend 6k or more on equipment for this so I got pioneer everything D spec 6x9 components front doors , 6x9 D spec 2 ways in the rear doors 5 channel GM dx975 amp a Z series 10 under the seat with a garbage q bomb or q power box . I ran a lc7i to gain signal for preamps did the setup process etc . Either I am crazy or the headunit changes what sound it wants to produce tuning strictly off the amp I can get it crystal clear loud and where I want it and the next day it sounds like **** . The sub just isn't low enough for me so I spoke to my local guys and they will do a custom box for 2 10s I spoke to Paul at net audio and he wants the same dual 10 box ported with another z series sub .

Both custom boxes are over a grand I just can't see spending that just for a box then load it with a 200 sub .

So here's my problem the sound quality comes and goes Net audio said its full range off the back of the radio without alpine, local guys said throw the lc7i in the trash and put in a amp pro 41 from pac and the entire sound stage will change .

Whos been down this road and has experience with the lc7i and pac amp pro ?

I am about to rip everything out and change everything including the 8.4 which I really don't want to do . The front stage can sound pretty good for a lower line speaker and I can get it clear but tge next day its diffrent same with sub output

Give me some help fellas

I’m using the PAC but I have the Alpine. I will say that switching from summed individual signals to Toslink from the PAC into my DSP made a definite improvement in the SQ.

had some issues with my AC lc7i also had random noise and sounded like junk at low volume, went to a JL Audio TWK88 and never looked back such a great sounding unit.

Your best ootion, ditch that oem hu and install a (hurts me to say this as I'm a kenwood guy) Pioneer hu, nice high voltage preouts, no loc to deal with and no summed channels. Set your amp gains properly, age tweek with the built in eq. That single 10 in a sealed should give ample bass in a truck that's well sound deadened. 2 10s will really pound, she absolutely no need for a third.
Personally, i listen to new & old country, and classic rock mostly, i find tight bass from a sealed box sounds best for this. Metal, rap, hiphop, usually the more boomy bass from a ported box sounds best... Just my personal opinion, but shared opinion by alot of audiophiles.

I installed a ZAPCO DSP-Z8 iv. Problem solved. Extremely awesome user friendly unit. Maybe try a reset on 8.4 unit.

I have the pac amp pro and it has been flawless. I did add the audio control DM608 after a short while. Massive difference. I have a ported box from paul at net audio for 2 x 10's. I will say this box is brilliant. Really good quality and sounds good. I have 2 PSI platform 1 with HP upgrades so running 1000rms each. It slams. I did not want to spend as much as I did but somehow twisted my own arm and have no regrets. I also run pro audio mods and tweeters. If you do go pro audio mods and tweets i highly recommend a DSP

I went from the 5.0 ra2 to the 8.7 ra4 and tried using I think the LC2I and I could not get a good signal. I’m no expert though. It was my first time doing a install myself. I sold the 8.7 and picked up a pioneer avid-8100 and that worked no issue. I hope you get it figured out. Good luck
