Took our 2022 home, beautiful truck, beautiful ride. We have one issue
There is a random deep thumping rumbling noise that comes and goes. Sounds like from the back seat. At first we thought it was coming from the subwoofer under the seat but you can turn the radio off it does not matter. It is not consistent. It is not rhythmic it is random. Sitting still or moving does not matter.

Now comes the weird part, roll down either front window “all the way” it goes away, roll it back up half way and boom it’s back. You can do this sitting still or rolling does not matter.

It’s like thhub thhub……thhub..thhubb thubbb thhubb………..thhubb
And it’s pretty loud

It’s an annoyance

It’s most likely the noise cancellation system in the truck which is working regardless if the stereo is on or off since it will most likely deactivate when the windows are rolled down. Take it to the dealer and have them fix it, lotta money to be living with a noise you don’t like. My 22 Cummins so far has been perfect, but my 19 power wagon stayed with something wrong and stayed at the dealer.

Sounds very plausible! I’ll take it in and let you know what happens!

well some initial feedback: I went out and looked for the microphones for the active cancelling system and found what I think are them, so I stuck some sticky foam over the back two and went for a drive, **** the noise is completely gone! Good call identifying the issue!

I will still make an appointment to get it fixed but at least I can drive in peace now!! Ha ha

The front two are still operating:)

It’s plum Quiet in the truck now:)

Thanks Biglazer!!

Wow - I can't believe the money being expended on luxury trucks now. Active noise cancellation? For a pickup truck? Just.....wow.

I have the very same issue on my 2022 RAM 2500 Cummins. If covering the back two sensors solved the problem, what about the other 4 sensors in the forward section of the headliner: one on either side above the windows, and two over the dash? Can this be tuned or adjusted without resorting to pulling wires or covering the sensors? In other words, does the dealer have a secret program or flash to adjust it? I thought I was imagining the problem, because it happens at such a low frequency. I thought it was related to the exhaust system, DEF injection or engine operating temperature.

I took mine 2022 3500 in just today for the same reason, I told them what's it was doing so hopefully they can take care of it. Thier is a wire harness that you can get and I have one coming that will disable the ANC but I'm going to see what the dealer do, from what I have heard that the dealer can flash the software TB.

Big Daddy, I checked out the product and also a you tube video showing how to de-pin the four wires that go to the microphones in the headliner. I did not want to completely disable the system, because it does reduce outside noise and enhances the telephone clarity. I have contacted my dealer to investigate the flash update. Thanks for your research

I feel you, I thought the exact same thing right up till I discoverd that the thump stops when I roll one of the front windows down past the halfway point. All you have to do is come to a stop when its thumping and roll the front window down and up till you see the exact spot I cuts the active noise canceling off. Has to be a front window, it seems the back windows are not connected to the interlock.

Having said all that I did get an over the air software update the other day that seemed to help, I don’t know for sure.

I've read on other forums there is a software update to fix this NC issue. I've also read that folks are purchasing a cable that allows the mics to be taken out so the system doesn't try to noise cancel.

I believe the noise cancellation is only on the Limited trim, this is true on the 1500s, same on the HD's?.

Incorrect actually, my longhorn has it (although equivalent to the limited trim) but I know I've seen it on Laramies too. Not sure about bighorn and below.

I just took delivery of a 2022 Longhorn 1500 and the noise cancelation is not on my build sheet but if I look at a Limited build sheet, ANC is there. My salesperson told me only the Limited trim includes ANC (RPO JLW).

I can't find any mention of ANC in any of my owners' manuals or any Uconnect 5 settings. What would I look for in the vehicle to see if ANC is present? Mic locations, for example. I'm wondering if is a feature RAM is backing out of the lower trims.

I covered the back two microphones that are located in the headliner above the backseat passengers heads
